Lee Circle in New Orleans is now an empty pedestal. Monument Avenue in Richmond, VA just has ghastly empty spaces where beautiful monuments used to be.

They replaced beautiful monuments to courage and tradition with emptiness because that is all they have to offer.

The South lost the civil war a thousand times in a thousand ways, but the principles the South stands for has never been and will never be defeated because they are eternal.

Those empty spaces speak far more about the greatness of the South than the monuments did.

This is a pretty weird statement to be honest.

And if we want to take it at face value and contextualize in the most favorable light, it’s not even true. The best argument to be made is the South stood for honor and state’s rights at that time. Most cities are liberal, the culture has melted into that of the nation as a whole, and the South is generally the fattest and dumbest region in the country.

Sorry about your statutes though baw

More of stark reminder of why we shouldn't handle things with emotions. I was fine with statue discussion but not wanton destruction like we saw.

It really made a huge difference in crime in New Orleans after all the people stopped being offended by statues.

There's 100% chance that the criminals have no idea who any of the people were.

200 years from now we'll have no history. Just statues of a bunch of women nobody ever heard of, wrote about, or cared about. And the goal of the current left will have been achieved.

I just need to know if the places they tore down monuments are more, same or less violent than they were before the monuments were tore down.

Did we move the needle?

Don't forget all this did for the most esteemed Mayor Mitch Landrieu.

First he declared he might be a candidate for Presidency, When that was met with barely a yawn, he went job hunting.
You might not have noticed but he was very high up in Joe Biden's candidacy for re-election.
Since then, crickets.

It was never about discussion. It was about destruction because Marxists don't want to learn or convince. They want to destroy and replace.

They’re retarded just like some posters here are retarded thinking those statues were some last bastion of a gentile society that no longer exists.

Both sides slapped a broad label on statues. History is ugly and you cannot always judge by modern terms. I remember when Jackson square started getting talked about because he owneed slaves. Nevermind his contributions to the defense of the city and such. Obviously that was a statue that was not low hanging fruit but a lot of people were dealing in absolutes

The most important point from these debacles is the question we need to ask black Americans:

Now that the usual set of white virtue signaling trust fund radicals convinced you that these Confederate monuments were holding you back; after their removal, how has your life improved? Or, yet again, have white liberals and do-gooders simply used you as a mechanism they can display their righteousness and bring attention to themselves by "saving" you from evil white Southerners? And, how many times are you going to let these self-serving attention seekers keep using you?
