Kiffin just has to get the right DLC and keep 'em from the portal. With the kids coming back, and the kids we got coming in, our DL will be ridiculous.

Coach O can definitely be a shite show of a person but he's also been a part of 5 national championship staffs. I'm not beating the door down to get him back but I wouldn't be mad either. Kiffin knows who to put where to win ball games I guess we will see.

This is a shite take. Like the next poster said, dude has 5 rings. He knows ball. He’s a loose cannon, but to pretend he’s not an elite DL Coach and recruiter is being disingenuous.
That said, I would prefer Robinson then O if necessary in that order.

Statements like this show the pure stupidity of LSU fans. O has been and elite assistant his whole career and has a handful of NC rings as a d-line coach.
Oh by the way, he was the HC on the greatest team in CFB history and brought Joe B to LSU. No O, no glorious 2019 nd no Burrow.
It’s crazy how people love to bash O for any reason with no understanding of what he has accomplished.

He’s not an elite DL coach; he’s a good one - that’s it. If he was elite then teams would be beating down his door to get him, and they’re not. He was a great recruiter, and I’m sure that’s still a useful skill; it’s just not as useful as it was before NIL. What he should do is color commentary on the game day shows, but they are probably afraid of MeToo fallout.

How many unemployed elite DL coaches do you know? This guy has been parading around the south openly interviewing, practically begging for any job he can get. And how many offers does he have? He’s desperate, and sometimes that can lead to hunger and motivation, but this dude burned us to the ground while getting rich and now he NEEDS another pay day. Hard fricking pass. Let him go to all these other schools that are offering elite DL coaches since he’s such a hot, can’t miss commodity.

Kiffin will make the call. Isn’t he very close with O? One thing is for sure, given their sense of humor and mischievous nature those two paired would get ALL the media headlines and give this Board a ton of laughs. And don’t think that doesn’t translate into big time market value and NIL $.
The old days are gone and things are not pretty but it is what it is. Ed O is no role model nor does he claim to be. But I don’t think he’d make trouble for his friend, knowing they can make history at LSU. Like dropping the Congressional Filibuster, if one don’t do it one’s opponents will. Play the game or lose.
