There’s no good time to say this and prepared for a lot of pushback.

But you can point to a lot of things that should prepare you for some head scratcher losses in years one and two.

It happened to saban. It happened to Les. It’s happened to everyone.

I’m not trying to tamp down the scoreboard melts that will happen in the first quarter of the Clemson game in26.

But keep in mind that it takes time. Lane will take a LOT of national shite from the espn/fox guys.

Embrace that because he’s a target. But dammit, he’s OUR target and while that’s exciting, he (and any other coach) need support and forgiveness.

Embrace Lane and potential mistakes just like this crowd did when UGA came to BR in 03. . The benefits will outweigh the negatives. But all coaches and teams make them. Remember this.

There’s a very telling clip in that game where Uga got the momentum and our defense was on the field. The crowd came alive (top 5 crowd ever at lsu btw) and you can see Marcus Spears nodding his head in appreciation……and we responded.

It was peak tiger stadium. Earthquake level. That crowd not only forgave LSU for mistakes, but they embraced this team and helped them win.

So he shouldn't be fired after the first three and out?

Think you forget you’re dealing with Tiger dropping fans. These clowns will expect a touchdown on every drive a three and out on every opponent drive or else they will be calling the season a failure.

Check back in after the transfer portal closes. This isn’t 2016 baw. We can flip the script in one offseason.

Understood.
But have some leeway if he doesn’t. He’s been a target.

I just don’t wanna see after one failure to flip a guy, that this board (and I understand that this board is full of a bunch of alters from other schools….TideSaint alters) gives him he’ll and closes up shop on him.

12-0 or I'm canceling my season tickets.

Realistically, I want to be in the playoff hunt in November.

That would be acceptable. With our resources there's no way we SHOULDN'T be. I think natty within 3 years though.

Thread like this remind me that Lane and LSU fans are a perfect match. We’re going to bring out both the best and worst in each other.

This isn’t a 4-8 team he is taking over. With a competent OC and OL this year we are in playoff discussion.

If he improves us enough for A two game swing, we will be in discussions next year.

With next year’s schedule LSU may go 8-4. Unless we have a team like 2019.

Rant is going to Rant, so better advice would be for you to keep your expectations of this place, in mind.

No redshirt year. Ya'll wanted Frank to win every game as the Interim HC.

Part of the HC’s job is managing expectations.

BK sabotaged himself with this aspect of the job. And all other aspects of the job.

It's a very different era in college football with NIL, there is no more 3 to 4 year timetable to turn around a program. And with our budget and resources, we should at least be competitive in every game.

If 5 SEC teams can make a 12 team playoff, is it OK for us to be 6th or lower in the SEC? I want to be contending for a playoff spot late in the season every year! Not everyone can win a Natty but we have to be "in the hunt"!

Ole' Miss fans will not and never will.

That first game will be the most viewed game on TV. LSU fans will be glued, Clemson fans will be glued, and Ole' Miss fans will be glued to see if LSU and Lane will fail.
