How did Michigan fail so epically in vetting Moore?

There were more than just a few people surprised he got the job in the first place.

But this "obsession" of his didn't start 18 months ago.

Surely you should have been able to uncover his daliances and at worst his flirtations with literally teenage girls.

That's fair, I mean did we ever really hear them making a concerted effort to hold a real coaching search? I don't remember that happening.

They didn't care.

They thought they would have more severe sanctions coming and didn't mind letting Moore be the fall guy.

If not being able to keep it zipped was a disqualifying factor in football coaching, the whole sport would have to shut down.

Sanctions incoming, plus I think they promised harbaugh they’d hire home after he left.

I think this is the answer. No other name coach was going to go there with sanctions looming over the program, so they gave Moore the job.

Also, I know Underwood went there for the money, but that was really stupid, short sighted and a huge red flag for any programs considering pulling him via the portal. I can't think of many highly rated bag chasers that lived up to their potential.

Look at their AD and you’ll have all your answers.

They had one critical criteria and Moore passed with flying colors. Not so much with content of character.

It was about proximity and DEI.

Its not like hes a random dude they had pulled from elsewhere as he had been at Michigan for awhile but its pretty clear had a racial trump card to get elevated.

He could have taken advantage and possibly done a good job, but we can see the opposite happened.

And for a guy that claims people were "out to get him" it sure a bit hard to believe he thought that given he was sneaking around with his assistant in broad daylight.

Was Hugh Freeze a DEI hire after he was fired AND REHIRED over hooker scandal?

Had nothing to do with it… They made him captain of a sinking ship… it’s obvious now they keep someone around connected to Harbaugh to push all the blame on… it only helps that Moore a scumbag so the disassociation with that era can be completely validated… the AD next … the money people involved and in control now … I don’t expect UM to lose no vital players to the transfer portal… that tells you they been preparing for this… We (LSU) handled BK firing strictly based on emotion… this more calculated and well put together than the route we took… in the end BK was fired because A&M scored 35 straight points in the second half… the buyout/for cause issue came up because BK a smug SOB from the Northeast dealing with rich Louisianians who didn’t care for his attitude or effort

No it’s not. Michigan did nothing with first info…if they had pulled cell phone records to begin with that would’ve told the tale.

They only moved to fire him when his mistress came back to contradict her original lies with receipts AND after they loss to Ohio State and were out of playoffs.

Hugh Freeze built a resume of winning games. Including beating Nick Saban twice.

That didn't happen much from 2008-2023.

Their AD Warde Manuel is a DEI hire and if you look at the scandals under his watch Michigan is run as well as his hometown.
