If the authority (whatever that means) said Notre dame either join one of the big conferences OR you aren’t eligible for the college football playoffs. You will however be permitted to play in bowl games.

What would they do?

Quit football?

Throw a temper tantrum. We've seen over the past few days they excel at that...

Round up the national media to go on the offensive on what a travesty it would be for Notre Dame to have to play like everyone else.

Then cry. A lot.

In this fake scenario they would obviously just join a conference.

The reaction to ND’s actions is as stupid and fake as the reactions to OM telling Kiffin to frick off. Why does anyone pretend to care about whether ND plays in some meaningless bowl game?

shite, I wish LSU would opt out of the shitfest in Houston. There’s no benefit from it at all and I’d rather turn the page.

Starting next season they’re apparently guaranteed a spot if they’re ranked in the top 12.

So they won’t be ranked in the top 12 if it’s close

Hire a lawyer and sue under anti-trust law violations...and win.

Yeah man, not a chance those extra practices are in any way a help to a brand new coach when getting to know players and evaluating a roster. No benefit at all to that

In like 15-20 years, when the Big ten and SEC break off to form their own new league that only plays one another, they’ll fall in line

Which incentives them to play an even easier schedule than they have now.

Because ten-twelve practices without anyone who will be a player on the offensive side of the ball will be super impactful going forward.

“Bowl practices are important” is the lamest talking point possible with the portal and new landscape.

Ten days in December will definitely help us be better

because of the fact they are only doing cause they think they look cool and are huffing and puffing about missing the playoffs. Like a child. LSU would not be doing it for that reason

They would throw a temper tantrum and then reluctantly join the worst Power 4 conference so either ACC or Big 12.

I don't. But, I do know that football is an extremely competitive sport filled with tough "alpha-males," "jocks," and "meatheads."

It's highly telling that they opted out not to play football because they weren't selected.

You can raise economics all you want, at the end of the day, your team - and not individual players - opted out not to play.

Not an ND fan but if they just would not have blown it against aTm, they would be in the playoffs, and no one would have a problem with it.
