He doesn't really have any of the skills necessary to be a big time head coach. He'll be fired after 2026 after another .500 or worse season.

Seems like Aranda learned from Les to quietly fire your assistant by letting them apply for other jobs.

Could work out for us if Blake gets a head coaching gig after next season.

Only a matter of time before someone at Baylor tries to replicate what is happening in Lubbock.

Not surprising.

Dave Aranda basically said a couple days ago that he was removing play calling duties from Powledge and would be hiring a new DC. He was essentially forced out.

This was a nice way of firing him, you don't go from Baylor to UNT.

What’s with your anti-Aranda agenda?

I ask that rhetorically by the way.

He’s mad at Aranda for taking some of the shine from orgeron in 2018-2019. I ignored the rhetorical part

Notice he’ll never utter those same words about mcmahon or O

They don’t have near the same money pool in Waco as they do in Lubbock. They would have moved on from Aranda this year but couldn’t afford the buyout money along with the other expenses in today’s landscape.

He was processed. Aranda has his issues at Baylor, but this is not an indication of that. When the head coach takes your playcalling duties from you as the DC, it's a signal to look for another job on your terms rather than be fired.

Other than not firing Aranda what else makes you think that? I’m not saying you’re wrong as I’m not entirely sure, but I do know those Baptists have a shite ton of money they’ve donated to Baylor to build a new stadium along with renovating the entire campus. My guess is they are just playing the waiting game with the money until they know they have a proven coach. I’m pretty sure they could replicate tech’s situation if they wanted to but just don’t right now.

Baylor has just returned to what it always was. Take away the few years under Briles and they are a sub-.500 program. Even with him, they are barely above .500.

Baptists having money and being funded by a multi billionaire oil tycoon are different rungs on the ladder. They may be more frugal with their money, but they don’t have Texas Tech money. If they did, they would be better in football. Their roster is not even average.

Should've been fired this season. But the AD situation complicated that and the university doesn't want to pay the buyout. Doesn't surprise me because the current university admins are okay with mediocrity
