ND refusing a bowl game could cost ESPN $30-35M in revenue

ND's AD is a former TV exec with NBC and held exec roles with PGA, USGA, and CAA. He knew exactly what he was doing, telling the Pop Tarts Bowl to frick off.
Antecdote this morning from CFB Radio on XM (the show with Neuheisal).
The host said he had a conversation with someone very plugged into TV and media. This was the quote:

Obviously the right move to be had here is to have a 13 team college football playoff system where Notre Dame is an automatic entry every season.

I believe their contract with the CFP states that, starting next year if they are in the final 12 Ranking, regardless, they get in.
That clause, however, does not start until 2026.

They do well in major markets still, Chicago and New York especially. I have no idea if that revenue number is right, but they still attract viewers.
Alabama probably shouldn't be in, they haven't looked good at all the last 5-6 weeks, but Miami was ranked as the last 2 loss team in from P5 and Notre Dame lost to them. So I don't really feel bad for them.
I think Vandy would beat Miami and Notre Dame. They've been playing their best football as of late, which the committee claims to weigh heavily.

If this is true ND is somehow even MORE pathetic that I originally thought b/c this means the school leadership ginned up a bunch of teenagers anger enough to trick them into opting out of a bowl just so they could have a dick measuring contest w/Disney that they won't win.

Everyone hates on ESPN and talks about how they want someone to fight back, but as soon as ND puts their money where their mouth is to fight back, people have a problem with it.
