Since LSU isn't in it, I hope they win the national championship

I'm thinking LSU will win it all before Tulane ever does.

I guess 2019 doesn’t exist?

Do I think Tulane will win the national championship? No.

Do I want them to win this year? Yes.

Do you know there was a 4-team playoff before there was a 12-team playoff?

That Tulane team that I saw was darn shitty. Tulane was +5 in turnovers (3 receiver tipped INTs and a ball hitting a punt returner blocker included) and won the game by 10 points. NT outgained them and dominated the game from the middle of the 3rd quarter on...outscored Tulane 14-3 during that time and had an INT in the endzone and got down to the 15 before the INT near the end of the game. And I was NOT impressed with Sumrall who IMO looked almost disinterested on the sideline...maybe he was facetiming with Florida I don't know. Sumrall looks like Billy Napier 2.0 to me. I never wanted him as LSU coach and after watching that game and the way N Texas GAVE the game away (one of Tulane's TD was a questionable TD off a pick 6), the Green Wave will be a quick out in the playoffs. And the game won't be close.

Is 4 teams really a playoff?

It’s not like they would’ve gotten in. If they played by the same rules as everybody else.
Win a few games or national championship and we can talk about it until then it’s a moot point

The goal isn't the playoffs, the goal is a national title.

Tulane
Ole Miss
A&M

All in the playoffs this year.

None of them beat us to the playoffs because we won the 2019 playoffs but it is insane they beat us to the 12 team. But that's why you fire your guy and go take one of their coaches

And that’s why the LSU job is better than the ole miss job

Why? The "they are a La. school" reasoning doesn't fit. 80% + of their alumni base is from the N.E. not La. & their student body is close to the same percentage Their UP Town fan base doesn't resemble anything like LSU's.

The first round of the playoff is a tune up for what is coming next. The first rounds are not the same caliber teams as Georgia's Ohio State's etc

What would you call it?
What did they call it in MLB when they had two divisions and no wildcard format?

Let's look at what they called it in 2019 vs what they call it now.

Week-by-Week CFP Selection Committee Rankings: 2019

Week-by-Week CFP Selection Committee Rankings: 2025

Well, would you look at that. I guess every reasonable person would call that a playoff.

I am rooting for them since LSU not in but I truly felt bad for them. I looked on the secondary websites since I had nothing to do yesterday evening: as of yesterday morning there were tons of tickets for sale for less than $25. Seats empty in their downsized tiny stadium in TV. Their own people don’t care. I’d venture to say the amount of LSU fans wishing Tulane good will outsized their own dedicated fan base.
