"We can't allow a coach of another school to continue to coach here, a rival!"

The outrage against Lane couldn't be justified by this argument if they are allowing CWJ and others who will be leaving for LSU at the end of the year to coach during CFP.

Isn't CWJ under contract now at LSU? I mean, good to see we are allowing those players to have a CFP shot. I hope we now have inside tracks to get some transfers.

I don’t like it. Let those ungrateful bastards figure out how to field an offense. If they win they’ll never acknowledge they did it with our new OC.

Ya know I bet we don't hear q peep from the national media about this. I think we are seeing who the real villains are.

I dont 100% care for it as it feels like potential fox in the hen house. I 100% agree with Ole Miss that Kiffin that shouldn't be allowed to coach the playoffs. It's not just that Kiffin could recruit our players while he's here, but it's the fact that he is openly showing he would rather coach a rival school than finish the season with the players that he helped recruit here under the guise that he would be leading them. The players told him they don't want him here once it was made known the Kiffin wanted to be at LSU. Obviously they can't play for him in the playoffs. Weiss is being forced to make a decision to make sure he has a job,l so he's not necessarily choosing to walk out on the team and as I understand it might not have actually signed a contract but more of an MOU or offer acknowledgement. If that is the case, Ole Miss can potentially convince Weiss to stay if works out vs worrying about Weiss trying to get players to jump in the portal. Then again Golding might not want Weiss coaching here next year, so who knows.

CWJ is under contract with LSU now. It was reported he signed a contract, not an MOU:

CWJ signs contract

Also, Locked on Ole Miss constantly reports Kevin Smith is expected to also join LSU after the CFP. So, you would have multiple coaches on Ole Miss sidelines now either under contract with LSU or anticipated to be so.

My argument is that the NCAA schedule and financial profits created this mess. Unfortunately, the way Kiffin and KC handled it made it worse.

KC allowing Kiffin to keep coaching through the Egg Bowl undermines the argument that they just couldn't allow Kiffin to keep coaching through the CFP. By all reports, KC had been interviewing coaches such as Sumerall 4 weeks prior, when he apparently suspected Kiffin to be strongly pursuing the LSU job. If he couldn't let him coach, then why not address that weeks prior? Seems he wanted Kiffin to coach when it benefited OM and ensure OM made the CFP. Once that happened, out with Kiffin.

There may have been a divorce with Kiffin brewing under the surface, and I wouldn't be surprised. It is the argument of "We can't allow any coach for another team to be on our sidelines another day!" being applied for one coach and not any others that smells like crap to me. It makes no sense, and makes OM look like hypocrites.

Charlie just needs to find the best players on that offense who have eligibility and feed them and say there is more where that comes from down Nicholson Drive in Baton Rouge

From the players and fans I’ve heard from they aren’t happy about it.

It doesn't make sense but I am glad the Ole Miss AD was hell bent on Lane not coaching. It allows Lane to get to work now working on the LSU mess Kelly left us.

Sure it can. CWJ will call plays, and the team doesn’t hate him. Lane checked out over a month ago, and had become a locker room cancer that the team was more than happy to see go. Lane being in the building would have been a big net-negative.

I'm sure the Ole Miss powers that be were up early this morning to get together and craft a statement justifying their actions to an LSU message board.

"Get your arse in here. Some guy named Rizer_J is still waiting!."

Your argument makes no sense. If he was so hated and such a distraction, then you don't beg him to stay and coach through the Egg Bowl! It makes NO sense!

Why do you think anyone at Ole Miss begged him to stay at any point? It was Lane doing the begging.
