Florida counts as 3 losses
re: Was LSU too poor or not prestigious enough to hire Cignetti?

Kiffin doesn't think teams like Indiana can compete consistently. Probably because their stadium only holds 53K. Kiffin needs all the advantages to make it happen apparently unlike Cignetti.
I guess going from Ole Miss LB coach to LSU DC would make sense.

I bet it's because he doesn't have one.
re: Why did Ole Miss try so hard to keep Lane?

Because they thought he liked it at Ole Miss and was happy there and had matured and Ole Miss was winning. Now that everything he said/did about being satisfied with Ole Miss is shown to be fake and a way to improve his image and he's now lied about multiple things the past few days to paint Ole Miss in a bad light when Ole Miss tried to do everything he wanted the past 6 years, Ole Miss has nothing for him now. Pretty simple.
Now the whole world gets to watch LSU fall for it. Enjoy your wins that come from it and eventual downfall.

I dont 100% care for it as it feels like potential fox in the hen house. I 100% agree with Ole Miss that Kiffin that shouldn't be allowed to coach the playoffs. It's not just that Kiffin could recruit our players while he's here, but it's the fact that he is openly showing he would rather coach a rival school than finish the season with the players that he helped recruit here under the guise that he would be leading them. The players told him they don't want him here once it was made known the Kiffin wanted to be at LSU. Obviously they can't play for him in the playoffs. Weiss is being forced to make a decision to make sure he has a job,l so he's not necessarily choosing to walk out on the team and as I understand it might not have actually signed a contract but more of an MOU or offer acknowledgement. If that is the case, Ole Miss can potentially convince Weiss to stay if works out vs worrying about Weiss trying to get players to jump in the portal. Then again Golding might not want Weiss coaching here next year, so who knows.

LSUs overall record against Alabama is pathetic. They are historically nowhere close to Alabama. Their record against Ole Miss is more like that of Ole Miss' against State - a lot closer. And majority of games in the Ole Miss - LSU have been played in Baton Rouge.

I don't want him coaching against State. Who wants to play for or cheer for someone who doesn't want to be there?
From the responses, a lot of LSU fans here seem to expect to be in playoff contention almost every year. Kiffin is already doing that at Ole Miss. I thought Kiffin was supposed to be able to do more than he can at Ole Miss because of the limited "ceiling". He will have finished in the top 12 in 3 of the past 4 years, so LSU is basically just wanting what he has done at Ole Miss which is weird considering they have more resources.
Wasn't easier for Dan Mullen to win at Florida, was it? He won the division once or twice, but that was only because he played in the East. You could argue his best team at State could hang with his best team at Florida.
Dan Mullen didn't recruit all that well, but Kiffin himself doesn't either really.

At worst maybe Ole Miss will fall to where LSU is now because they can still compete in NIL.
re: First time going to Hoover. Question about GA tickets
Posted by UM Rebel on 5/22/25 at 10:51 pm to somethingdifferent
I did this today. When you get the mobile ticket, it tells you which section to sit in. For example mine showed as 212GA, which was section 212. Those are bleacher seats without seat numbers, so yes, first come first serve. Just find an opening where no one is sitting, shouldn't be an issue. If you buy a ticket, you have a ticket for both games of that session for that day.
Is LSU good at anything?

How is this Ole Miss' best team if they've had a better record in 2 of the past 3 years?

Yeah Gator Bowl is about the best bowl you can get when you're losing to teams like Florida.

Forgot South Car. Ole Miss beat them way worse than they beat State.

Yeah but Bama is the only team to make Oklahoma look good.
We had a better record last year with a worse team, so...

Sorry to break this to you but amazing stats does not help in getting players drafted. It is strictly based on ratings.
Right but players playing well can help their ratings. The game should recognize that if you have a young team in the mid-high 80s they can still go pro one day by the time they are seniors. The grades they give for programs shouldn't change drastically year to year. It should be a rolling 3/4 year average.
I am having this issue where in year 4 of Dynasty, some of my players that were in 85-90 overall OL and TE are now in the 70s. For example my 89ish center won the best center award last season and now is a 72 center. But I can put him in as a 90 RG. My former high 80s RG is now in 70s as RG, but I can put him at center. I can swap them but my 87 TE now shows as 72 TE. WHAT THE HECK.
Also in year 3 I lost in quarters of playoffs. I had a young team and no one got drafted, so pro potential after making playoffs 3 years straight went straight from A to C. So now I'm ranked #3 in year 4 and am locked out from recruiting some good players and I have people on my team who now want to transfer because they think they cant go pro. So now I have to devote this season to piling up stats and running faster offense to get more plays to juice stats so people will go pro. No SEC team should ever have a C for pro potential.
