re: Trinidad, leavitt, or someone else?

I think Chambliss if he gets a waiver approved. Then, if it makes financial sense, Underwood. However, I would hope, in this case, Underwood would redshirt. Then, get someone to come in and compete with MVB for QB2/3. I am not expecting Hurley back, although it would be nice. I would like to give MVB and Hurley a chance to develop under Kiffin and Wies. See what they got, cause we know they didn't get developed under the last staff.

We need at least 2 QBs, so get Leavitt, Chambliss, or Simmons to be the starter and Underwood to back up and develop. Will need another QB if MVB and Hurley leave.
Am I the only one seeing just a snapshot of Golding's term sheet? Where are the links to the term sheets for all of these coaches?

You mean he was trying to do exactly what Sumerall and Morris were doing, which is finish what they started with their current teams while accepting their next job?

"But, that's different because they aren't leaving for a rival school!", you guys cry.

Well, almost your entire offensive staff did, and you took them back for the CFP run and seem happy to do so. Don't they have more contact and relations with the players? Seems to reason they would be more likely to recruit your current roster than Lane.

Didn't OM say "money is no obstacle" when it came to retaining Lane? You guys offered him top dollar to stay there and offered a comparable NIL guarantee. He was such a threat that you made such an offer?

Come on now! I thought you guys were smart preppy kids. Now, you are just looking stupid.

Just ask ChatGPT, Grok, and Claude, then take the aggregate average to get a combined ranking.

Only proposed this number because they don't want to get rid of Bowl games, but most don't matter without putting some value on them.

Proposed CFP solution

With all these players (and now teams) opting out of bowls, why not do this:

1) All teams play an 11-game regular season with 1 bye week, season starts Labor Day weekend;

2) Top 2 conference-ranked teams play in their respective conference championship game the weekend of Thanksgiving;

3) 32-team CFP begins the following week, with the NCAA Championship game being played New Year's weekend, allowing Transfer Portal to open the following that game for 2 weeks;

4) All current Bowl sites get to host at least 1 round of playoffs, keeping players and teams interested in playing these games.
Well, this didn't age well for Tulane folks

Totally agree and said that myself in another post. But, these guys make me feel like we could hopefully return to seeing dominant DL play like back in the glory days of Marcus Spears, Glenn Dorsey, Chad Lavalais, etc. I want to see teams spend 2 or 3 days in an ice bath after they play us!

re: Dylan Berymon next?

Maybe, but we need some depth. Just didn't know if they would add him, too, and then add some veterans to finish building out the depth chart.

Dylan Berymon next?

I noticed he visited with our other DL commits. Are the #bootboyz joining forces in the real Death Valley?

Unbelievably SICK DL!!

We just added Brown, Geralds, Anderson, and Henderson to McKinley and Reliford!

If we get ERob to coach these boys, I won't need viagra for the next 3 years!

Glad he found a spot, but is a Joe Sloan offense a good spot?
Yep! His left side is out of eligibility, so he is flipping to another team!

On related note, Brad Johnson is coming out of retirement to compete for the starting QB role for The Mean Machine

re: Get To Know Scottie Hazleton

I didn't say LaAllen was made up. Just don't know where it is coming from and what his connection would be to Hazelton. I would imagine Hazelton would want to bring members of his current staff instead of bringing in all new coaches. Kaligis and Hollowell have already been with Hazelton at Michigan State and now Wake Forest.

Not sure where the LaAllen talk come from. If Hazelton comes, it looks like he would be likely to bring Kaligis (maybe Sr. Def. Analyst), Hollowell (Edge/OLB Coach), and Chevis (Safeties Coach).

DC/ ILB Coach: Scottie Hazelton
DL Coach (Interior): Elijah Robinson
EDGE / JACK OLB Coach: T.J. Hollowell
Safeties Coach: Chevis Jackson
DB Coach / Def Recruiting Coord: Corey Raymond
Sr. Def Analyst / LB + Pass Rush Specialist: Chris Kiffin
Sr. Def Analyst / Run Game + DL Techniques: Peter Kaligis

This staff could bring strong recruiting and coaching abilities

re: Tulane down to two

Tulane AD has said he prefers someone with HC experience. If so, Huff would be the choice that seems likely, even though Baker is a strong candidate as well. This should be interesting.
