for Paul Dano.

"It’s supposed to be a two-hander, but ... [Dano] is weak sauce, man ... He’s just such a weak, weak, uninteresting guy. The weakest fricking actor in SAG [laughs]."

Straight called my man the "weakest fricking actor in SAG." Jesus.

Says the guy that’s the weakest, often unnecessary, role in half his movies.

Yeah I have to agree. You can't say shite like this with the unnecessary and out of place appearances he's made in some of his films.

That’s why The Master is better. A two-hander where both actors are unstoppable.

He's not wrong about Dano, he is wrong about the movie. Dano and the movie both suck.

Is QT saying Dano couldn’t hold court with DDL? Because that’s almost every co star opposite of him in any film.

I actually agree with him. Eli really needed to be an absolute force and Daniel Plainview's equal and opposite counterpart. Dano did not have the screen presence to fully execute, though he did a fine job.

He might be right, but that sounds like he just doesn't like the guy

Gotta be honest, I disagree with QT here

Dano is great and goes toe to toe with DDL better than just about anyone else

PSH was so fricking good, man. Imagine the performances we could’ve gotten if he was still here.

The movie wasn’t a pleasant watch, but it was a good film with another incredible performance by DDL.

The Dano character was, in fact, a weak
hypocritical charlatan. He played it well.

I think it's a good movie, but they could have had any actor opposite DDL. It still isn't better than, say, No Country For Old Men
