DC Coach I have no idea. But what I do know is top defenses in the SEC this year.

Total defense rankings

#9 OU
#10 MISSOURI
#12 ALABAMA
#13 UGA
#19 ATM

OU and ATM &UGA not sure how much input the Head Coaches are involved.
LSU does have a history of using Missouri like LSUE in baseball.

Interesting one would be Iowa DC he has been there since 2012. Iowa is rated #8

Go get Bryant Haines from Indiana! Young coach who is aggressive, played and coaches linebackers.

considering all 3 have a defensive minded head coach, id say a lot.

Doesn’t have to be aggressive per se. just needs to be successful.

A scoring defense ranked in the top 20 consistently will mean championships for LSU. The offense will consistently be in the top 10.

I would be okay with poaching from Mizzou again, but I hope Baker stays

Top 30 with our new fast paced offense will be more realistic and still championship level with how much we'll score.

I love Bryant Haines but don't think he'll leave IU for a lateral move. He's been with Coach Cig for 10 years now.

Would be a great hire.

The Texas Tech D coordinator would as well.

Haines is making 2.1 in 26 and 2.2 in 27. No reason to leave at this point.

Eh. The days of needing a dominant defense to win championships is over for college football. Just gets halfway decent one and with the way the rules favor offense now, as long as your offense is good, you will win games.

We saw what a good defense but bad offense will get you this year. I’d rather not ever see another collapse of a year like this one.

Baker is staying.

Fact. New contract agreed to. Not signed, but agreed to.

ETA:

I guess that means Tulane still has a punchers chance, but it's good news.

Hanging with Kiffin and Orgeron might sound like a lot of fun to a young guy. Pick up a lifetime worth of stories quick.

Can't really link my text messages, but the guy who told me would know. He got a raise, which is wild.

I don’t think he’s quite ready for our DC position but Miguel Chavis from mizzou is one to watch the next few years.

We need Baker/Tulane to make a decision soon. If Baker leaves, any new DC is going to want to bring in his own coaches...

ESPN had a brief article ranking Stop Rates as in the % of drives that yield points. FCS games were thrown out.

LSU was 2nd in the SEC (only behind OU) with a 73.8% stop rate and allowing 1.55 pts/drive.

7. Oklahoma 75.4% 1.19
11. LSU 73.8% 1.55
16. Texas 71.1% 1.65
21. Georgia 69.4% 1.75
24. Alabama 68.8% 1.69
28. Missouri 68.1% 1.79

Really want Blake to stay for at least a few years. That would maximize the opportunity for immediate success.

I know Indiana has had back to back good seasons, but do you really believe IU is on par with LSU?
