Are we planning on hitting the portal for most of our recruits?

We have 15 HS recruits as we speak. Some may flip or may add.

I'm sure there will be a good mix of both. Any time a coaching change happens though, the new coach seems to lean a little heavier on the portal.

Most exciting part of college ball is seeing next years class come together. Who will be stars, make an impact and/or not see the field.

I think we will get over 20. That’s one of the things Kiffin liked. Stock up on recruits and fill holes in the portal unlike ole Miss.

I would be surprised if we get all of the HS slots filled so I would expect a large portal class.

Probably this year. Plus side...... we don't have Kiffin at Ole Miss to compete with anymore.

Yeah. Im happy where we are at in current situation. Just need to add like 25 more recruits lol

Yep. Kiffin had to play moneyball in recruiting at Ole Miss. He doesn’t have to do that here. This class may be small numbers-wise, but there’s some real star power in there. He wasn’t pulling those kinds of players in Oxford.
It looks like we will flip a couple in this cycle. I have a feeling the staff will be looking for a few more for NSD based on how many portal exits we end up having. 20 is probably a realistic number.
Also, one thing about Lane in the portal- he’s tended to look for guys who can contribute for multiple years. Most of the one year rentals at OM were on the defensive side.

I would imagine based on recent events that LSU finishes ESD with 20 signees. Depends on who is leftover they might add 1-2 more. I would think the main focus will be on the portal

The most impressive thing is our average star commit. It’s second to only Oregon right now I think? There are only 15 players but damn the quality is through the roof. And I bet you we add on at least 4 to 5 more quality players by tomorrow.

Signing a full HS class seems unlikely at this point. Not a big deal with the timing of our coaching changes. Lane will have a field day in the portal to fill gaps. It will be a good year to be portal heavy with the talent we are losing.

Yes, this year the portal will be the one to watch. As for signing day, I wouldn't mind just 2 (Anderson and Lamar).
