Cole said cocaine prices have surged 30% to 45% per kilogram because the strikes are disrupting the command-and-control networks that move drugs from South and Central America into the U.S.

Bunk and Roger are going to have a melt down over this.

If it keeps one innocent kid off drugs killing every drug smuggler in the world will be worth it.

Rerouting products for shortages is costly. But I have noticed S American fruits and vegetables supply is okay

An administration official made unsupported claims? Shocking.
90% of America's cocaine comes from Mexico. As recently as a couple months ago prices were way down.

Oseguera caught another break from the Trump administration. The president’s campaign to deport immigrants in the U.S. illegally has taken federal agents away from drug-traffic interdiction. In Arizona, two Customs and Border Protection checkpoints along a main fentanyl-smuggling corridor from Mexico have been left unstaffed. Officers stationed there were sent to process detained migrants. A senior administration official said the U.S. border is more secure than it has ever been.
Colombia is producing records amounts of cocaine, and the volume of the drug arriving in the U.S. is driving down prices, the people familiar with cartel operations said.
Cocaine prices have fallen by nearly half to around $60 to $75 a gram compared with five years ago, said Morgan Godvin, a researcher with the community organization Drug Checking Los Angeles. “The price of pure cocaine has plummeted,”

We were informed earlier today by a random, faceless internet poster from the comfort of his trailer that this was absolutely not true.

They’re not going to build a big enough boat to withstand our missiles.
If I was them I’d go with small and fast and stealthy. It’s a big ocean, best to try and sneak past. The bigger the boat the easier to spot
Or gut some old fishing rigs that still look like fishing rigs from above. Even send some empty rigs out hope we hit one and win the PR game. These cartel guys don’t seem to be the brightest bunch, they’ve worked on force and fear alone for so long they forgot how to be creative. These ain’t no Pablo Escobar types.

And to think we could have been bombing these drug runners and saving American lives all this time.

I don’t know what’s right or wrong on the pricing, but your link from 2.5 months ago quoting some guy in L.A. isn’t any more credible.

Sept 16th article that coke is cheap.
Dec 1st coke prices drastically rising.
Im not sure that he understands what hes supporting though...

Wasn't there something that happened around 5 years ago that made it difficult to ship anything internationally? I seem to remember a hubbub over travel.

Cocaine supply was no affected by that.....nor the price. Some individual markets have those price fluctuations, but that is due to factors like local demand and the purity. Places like LA want a higher grade of cocaine then say Albuquerque.....still unbelievably easy to find.
Price of heroin is up . Issues in Afghanistan right now between some of the bigger groups there and this year's growing season was not optimal for the poppies.....but it ain't hard to find.
American cocaine supply is not coming from Venezuela in any appreciable amounts.
You can get anecdotal evidence to support any position you want to represent a snapshot in time. Those small boats that we were vaporizing are good for TV but the serious weight is put on trailers and merchant vessels in Colombia and Ecuador and shipped up to Panama and Mexico where they are offloaded and disbursed throughout.
So if you want your cocaine, you can still get your blow and depending on your market, at a decent price. There's no shortage of supply or demand
