We’ve always thought this but chalked it up to bias because we love LSU. But hearing this solidified it. LSU is THE best job in college football. Period

I really hate being the spelling a-hole here but it's alluded, not eluded. The difference actually affects the meaning.

He actually said both coaches that he called for advice said it was the best program in the country.

He mentioned that when making decision he was going to call saban and Carroll.

Saban is obviously one of the coaches he’s referring to but O might be the other one.

If Saban was younger and wanted to come back into coaching LSU would have been his first choice!

We know that Coach Saban recommended Coach Kiffin's move to LSU, but, isn't it pure speculation to conclude that Saban told Kiffin that LSU was "above them all"? Even Alabama?

I can't see Saban telling anybody that the LSU job is better than the Alabama job, but, I could be wrong.

It would be MASSIVE if true.

KIFFIN said that he could not tell us exactly what Saban said because he works for another school. But he thinks the world of Coach Saban, So there is a reason I am here.

Read between the lines like you want!!!

Great job! They are paying 3 guys $72.5 million NOT to coach.

Lane also said he wouldn’t disclose what Saban told him about Bama, while saying he was “reminded” by “someone” that LSU is and I quote: “the best job in football”
—-can only be mentioning Saban

It is 100% speculation but any time he mentioned what someone told him it was, "coach Carroll told me x,y,z" or "Ed said x,y,z". He specifically said he shouldn't say what Saban said then would just drop "someone told me x,y,z".

Who knows if he was talking about Saban there but I feel like there's a good chance using context.

There was always a rumor that Saban tried to get back to LSU before taking Bama job, but LSU wasn't going to frick over Miles. Never knew how much of it was true.

I mean this is coming from the same person that said his biggest regret in his coaching career was leaving LSU. It’s not a shocker he has that stance.

Wasn’t much of a rumor. He met with Skip at the time, but Miles was on his second 11 win season. Hard to fire a coach like that to hire a coach back who only won 11 once.

Bonus points for using the verb form, not the noun (effect).

Actually, he said EVERYONE he talked to, outside the state of Miss., told him basically the same thing.... "you are going to regret it if you don't take the shot and you don't go to LSU. It's the best job in America... ".
