states began implementing an expansion of the program’s work requirements as mandated in the Republicans’ “big, beautiful bill,” which was signed into law by President Donald Trump

quote:

Under the GOP package, more food stamp enrollees will have to work, volunteer or participate in job training for at least 80 hours a month or they will only be able to receive benefits for three months out of every three years.

work requirement to include recipients through age 64 and parents of children ages 14 through 17. Veterans, people experiencing homelessness and former foster youth are now also subject to the mandate

Working for food...what a concept? I did it for the last 30 years or so. Make those Democrats work for them food stamps! The "give-me-something-for-nothing" days are gone, I hope!

I don’t have a problem with social services being there in times of need. Crap can hit any of us at any time and spiral things out of your control. But the lazy bastards and the politicians that made this a lifestyle need to be strung up. This is a damn good thing that has been implemented and will benefit the country.

I guarantee this is not as rock solid as it seems. I work in a downtown area blocks away from a lot of the social service offices and a public library. There is usually some carve out where as long as they are "looking for a job" they are OK.
Then they sabotage the job process by drawing a picture of a d*** on the job application or saying they missed a job phone call due to a dead phone battery.

They find ways to meet the requirements needed and never have a job.

The politicians created the policy which caused the lazy bastards to see the gubmint benefits as "payment" for voting for them. Politicians who did not care about people screamed every election year about "people losing benefits" when, in all actuality, the politicians were only concerned about maintaining the base voter through the forced dependency caused by their policy.

Now it is time to squash the regulations so people can work for themselves again, if necessary. Government is not the pimp and people are not whores.
