With the way things are currently, there’s 4 teams with an identical conference record and they have to use dumb, arbitrary criteria to decide who gets to go to Atlanta.

Ole Miss and Bama didn’t play each other. Texas A&M didn’t play Ole Miss, Bama, or Georgia. It’s so dumb and shitty.

Just scrap the whole thing and have co-champions of the conference. That would make more sense.

The decision makers will simply follow the money.

Makes too much money to get rid of it.

Make the final bracket before the sec championship game. So the game is just for a championship

Making the championship game is now as much schedule as performance.

It was great with divisions doesn't work now.

Conference expansion and a big playoff killed it.

If your conference has to use "opponents' combined conference records" as a tiebreaker to even decide who makes the game, that's a good sign you should just do away with the game IMO. Especially when it ends up being a rematch of a game already played that season...

The championship game model only makes sense to me with round-robin divisions. If you're going to mega conferences and obscure tiebreakers, just take it all the way and decide the champ that way.

If bama gets blown out which they may based on how bama and UGA are trending then I think they are likely left out

It makes no sense but that’s where we are

Welcome to 16+ team super conferences. Having to go to 3rd and 4th tiebreakers because of no head-to-head matchup between the tied teams will be common.

yep, all it does is penalize the teams that make it with more injuries leading up to the playoff.

If the playoff expands to 16 teams the extra revenue should cover it.

If a key player gets injured or a team gets left out for losing it that will be the solution

I like the idea of that weekend being the play-in of either 3/4 or 4/5 in the SEC and B1G.

Just go back to divisions. If you wanna play 9 conference games it's stupid to do away with divisions.

Last year the SEC championship had significantly more viewers than every first round playoff game and more viewers than 2 of the 4 quarterfinal games.
