40 and still for the moment

In a stand that looks a few hundred yards down two power lines. Not sure how good it’ll be since my chair is broken.

Pretty excited about later though, my 2 year daughter is obsessed with me deer hunting and so I’m gonna bring her to a stand for the first time after I hunt the morning.

Same pipeline as yesterday except I have my oldest with me today.

He was already excited to go. He was ecstatic when we stopped for kolaches and donuts on the way.

Good luck OB

I'm hunting in some pines this morning with my .30-06. Hoping to catch one strolling by on its way to a nearby cutover. I got in late and brought my coffee with me. I'm keeping my expectations low this morning at this rate. I really need to come back to this spot and work on thinning out the squirrel population. Way too many of them running around.

I have heard a ton of gunshots this morning so far. Sounded like a bunch of duck hunters kicked things off and then I've heard rifle shots off and on since sunrise.

I'm going with the opposite plan - late night last night for the high school playoff win (FINALS NEXT WEEK!), so I'm going out in a couple hours to sit through sundown. I kind of like that timing with weather supposed to be hitting just after dark. Finally cloudy...been tired of these clear sky hunts and no movement.

Union County AR. Rainy and 41. Hunting a stand of pines with 2 food plots one on either side of me. Couple of Does around 7:15 last time it slacked up. After a big 8 I’ve been chasing for two seasons now. Him or nothing for me.

Buddy took a doe or two and I shot 1 for some meat. Saw a good buck fight and a couple of scrapes being made by some 10 pointers. Lots of activity for a hot morning. Soon as I shot two Nilgai bulls stepped out of the brush at about 150 yards.
