I just got back from Starkville. I'm worn out and going to enjoy some family time tonight. Here's my final update: My sourcing believes Lane Kiffin is going to leave Ole Miss for LSU barring an emotional last-minute change of heart. Kiffin said today he hasn't made a decision and I'm not going to question his honesty. I do wonder if he means a final decision. Regardless, my sourcing believes he's leaning, at a minimum, to taking the LSU job. I do believe Ole Miss has a window to hire Jon Sumrall. It's a tight window and it will require a basically perfect process, but there's a window. Florida, smartly, is pressing and is way down the road with Sumrall. Tulane plays Charlotte tomorrow night, so in a world where Kiffin leaves Ole Miss, if there's no leak about Florida by game time in New Orleans, that would be a good news for Ole Miss. Of course, again, that's IF Kiffin makes a move and it becomes very public. Timing will be very tight. As for Kiffin's decision, I've heard it's expected in the morning, and while I've heard specific times, I'm not sure I completely buy that. We will be ready in the morning, one way or the other. I don't expect news this evening. I'm shutting it down.
