He went downhill fast over the last 48 hours. Turns out, it was organ failure. He gave me 12 years of love. He was a pitbull mix with lab (I think). I know some on here might celebrate him being gone because of that.

He was a stray by my old place of work, and I finally decided to take him home. He quickly became my shadow. He’d follow me everywhere and thought he was a lap dog. When I brought another pup into the fold, he had a new best friend. He helped me through the toughest time in my life, and it’s almost like he wanted to hold on long enough to know that I was going to be ok. He tried to be best friends with everyone, except the exterminator and some possums.

I’ve had a handful of dogs in my life, but this guy was by far the most loyal I have ever had. The world lost a great dog today.

Sorry to hear that man, always rough.

You can't replace him, but best way for me was building another bond with another dog that needs a home

Sorry dude. That's always tough. I have a harder time saying goodbye to dogs than I do to most people when they pass.

I’m sorry for you loss. I had a pit mix and she was a wonderful, loyal dog.

Sorry to hear that bro. Mine is getting close and I am not looking forward to it. I hope they're there waiting for us when it's our turn.

I’m sorry for your loss. Bully mixes are silly clowns. Mine is 11 or 12 now and I know each day is a blessing. She’s been my dog tester for fosters who have passed through or any new dog I’ve adopted.

When your dog passed, did you start a thread on here to let everyone know?

Generally curious how often people who post here lose a dog. Based on the number of members, I would assume at least one a day.
