Yep. Here's a pretty good thread on it below. If OP is coming from Baton Rouge he can find good ones at the Donut Shop in Natchez, Walker's in St. Joseph LA (my favorite), or Solly's in Vicksburg.

I would disagree. Doe's are just ok, imo.

Aren't the major differences size, corn tortilla, and simmering to cook?

In my opinion, Doe's in Greenville are middle of the road, at best.

The only ones I've had were from Divine Donuts in Vicksburg. I loved them enough to stop every time I go through. Their kolaches are good too.

Don't go to Rhoda's in Lake Village Arkansas, at least for buying to take home. She's got good tamales and fried pies, but the last time I was in there I asked if I could buy several dozen to take home and freeze.
God love her, that sweet lady said "Oh no. You wouldn't know how to cook 'em."
I left with a full belly and an empty cooler.

The biggest difference is they don't taste anything alike, and Mexican tamales are usually dry with way too much corn to meat ratio

M&M is solid. Not the best I’ve ever had, but probably as good as you’ll get south of Vicksburg
