Do we really want Lane? Is LSU about to make another 100 million dollar mistake? Time will tell. The Retrospectoscope will need time to elapse to answer this question. I wonder if Verge used AI to pick the ideal coach for the Tigers? I still wonder if Dillingham would not be a better choice? Head Coach is a big piece of the pie for sure especially if he make the best hires at coordinators and position coaches. In todays environment the money to spend on the roster is equally if not more important.

Dillingham’s resume’ looks pretty good, I guess. I haven’t really kept up with ASU…

Let's not just in case he doesn't come here.

This infatuation with Lane is unhealthy, irrational, and completely unwarranted

Has nothing to do with that. He has no chance to be the head coach. I hope the new coach keeps him

I honestly don't get the lust for Lane, flaky, disloyal, hasn't really won anything, and has somewhat of a shady past, maybe hire him as OC?

What?

In what world is Dillingham a safer choice than Kiffin? Seriously....Kiffin has coached in a lot of different places and scenarios and has proven he can win somewhere it's not exactly easy to do so and in the SEC.

They're giving that to him as well, but Kelly had 20 million to build a roster and feel flat on his fricking face.....so, I disagree.

I do but I'm no one. I would imagine players do too and I think high school kids want to play for a coach like him. Looks like they have fun on the sidelines and enjoy the game. Our players looked miserable this season with Kelly coaching.

You can chant all you want but Lane is staying. You really think their AD would release a statement saying a statement was coming if he wasn’t staying? He released the statement to get boosters stirred up and to commit more NIL money.

1) He has been good at Ole Miss and has the swagger that unfortunately the young kids like

2) He is a very good offensive coach, something the athletes of Louisiana will like and hopefully attract big time QB recruits with our NIL commitments.

3) He is the coach at Ole Miss, will be fun to steal their coach

4) Of the coaches you can actually get he is at least in the top 3 of everyone who knows anything about college ball.

Sure but this isn't as relevant as everyone thinks. It's not nearly as difficult to win at OM in this era as it used to be. Mississippi has a pretty good recruiting pool, and the kids are going to whoever is paying them the most money.

Completely valid but if strictly looking at offensive playcalling and QB evals there are better options, not many but a few. This is the best thing Kiffin has going for him and it's a pretty big one

Yea that's true but OM will go scorched earth after this. They will find a young playcaller to replace him and trips to Oxford will be hostile af. Similar to when Saban first started coming back to Baton Rouge. It'll be easy for them to attract another good coach. They've proven you can win there and they will invest in NIL and spend money on a coach.

Top 3 of everyone who watches college ball on the surface. I wouldn't say people who have actually searched extensively feel the same way. He's just a popular name because everyone knows his name

Listen to yourself and repeat it back to yourself slowly. If he can do this at Ole Miss then what the hell you think he can do with an ever better in state player pool plus all the transfers. You match Lane with a good D Coordinator and our recruiting resources and it’s a recipe for success. If he can do it with less talent at Ole Miss it’s common sense he can do more with more talent. Think for a second lol
