Okay Tigers here is why you don’t want to wait 8 days

LSU’s search gets dragged out, they get more desperate, they probably overpay.
Ole Miss keeps our head coach, our staff and our class together as long as possible.
The minute Lane signs somewhere else, our staff and recruiting class start getting picked apart. That’s just reality.
Hypothetically, if he announces right now, he takes half the staff with him. He takes a chunk of our roster. The rest gets picked over in the portal. We’re not getting a full staff in place fast enough to recruit, flip kids, and actually prep for the playoff.
Do you guys not see that? Delaying this isn’t some moral victory, it’s just simple math. The longer this drags, the better it is for Ole Miss right now.

Nothing was ever happening before the end of the regular season. Since when do you remember a coach leaving before the regular season is finished?

Your scenario is bullshite. OM has given a date for the announcement. It does not hurt lsu to wait one more week. May even be a moot point if they already have him locked up. This is solely to try and get your team past the egg bowl with a win and into the playoffs. Lane is gone come next Saturday. And its either LSU or Florida. LSU can wait another week for that.

He wouldn’t try to negatively affect any of your remaining games. You may have a point with recruiting but that’s just delaying the inevitable. The reason you didn’t force a decision today was to give things an extra week hoping something changes.
