That’s cool w me. Prolly a title in there

Possibly. But at a school like LSU you could win a title in year 2.

This is so tired and lazy.
Dude left ONE job early, and that was to go back to the place he never wanted to leave in the first place but crazy arse Al Davis lured him as the youngest coach in NFL history, then tanked the whole thing forcing him to work with a QB he didn’t want to draft and ended up being a huge bust.
He stayed at SC for 6 years as an assistant before Davis made that offer he couldn’t refuse.
He stayed at Bama for three years despite offers every year.
FAU three years despite offers every year.
And now he’s been in Oxford for SIX years despite offers every year.
The next stop is his last.
He saw Carroll build up SC into a mini dynasty and was a big part of turning Saban’s initial run into the greatest dynasty in modern history, and now he’s looking to do the same on his own.

If he leaves LSU, then it will be because the NFL is calling again. If that's the case, then he probably dominated at LSU. I can live with that.

Who gives a frick if we win a title
Posted on 11/21/25 at 4:43 pm to Mr.Perfect
How
Many coaches stay longer than 5-6 years now?
O and BK were less than 6 year tenures

Average coaching tenure in CFB is 3.7 years, so the odds are that yes it will happen again in 4-5 years.
The good thing is Lane's already coached in the NFL and at other big colleges, so his risk will be lower than when he was just getting into head coaching 15 years ago.

I would assume you mean that is because he's successful. That's a bad thing?

He would leave us for Bama, maybe UT, or NFL. I already told my dad if we get him it’s for 5 year maybe, and he will be moving on. If he has us in the playoffs consistently with a title in there, it’s worth it to me.

Fine. Figure in those 4-5 years we make the playoffs 3x.
Win 1 of 3
He can leave and we can take the next one that is cutting his teeth somewhere during Kiffin’s tenure with LSU.
That would make 4 out of 5 of the past LSU HC winning a NC
We would continue having our pick of the coaching litter.

5 years is an eternity for college athletics. You can’t plan for that far out if we get him for 5 years and he moves on then so be it he probably won a lot of games

If he kills it in recruiting and gets up back as a title contender, I’ll wish him bon voyage

If y'all get a Natty out of it so what.

I agree. I don’t see any reason for him to leave LSU if he is in demand. That means he’s having success.

No Doubt but hopefully its after we get another Natty.

Maybe to the NFL. Where else would he go?
