Let's assume he leaves Ole Miss, with the coaching possibilities LSU and Florida.

Isn't LSU considered to be a better job? Aside from money, why would Kiffin choose Florida over LSU?

Seems to me LSU offers more relative to facilities, fan support, no competition in the state for the best players.

What does the board think?

Because they get to play Kentucky and South Carolina every year

LSU is the better job.

But its not just Lane making the decision.

LSU offers more salary, more in NIL, and high salaries for his assistants

Sometimes “the better job” does not equal “the better situation for you”.

Regionalism isn’t as important as it once was in the NIL world.

That being said….LSU is absolutely a “better job” than UF. I use quotes because better job could mean different things to different people.

His salary is a blank check regardless of school, and he's already said publicly he doesn't care about it.

Ole Miss already has amongst the highest support and staff salaries in the nation - the highest paid OC/DC combo as well.

The NIL aspect is definitely important, but those dollars are a moving target YoY. Sure LSU is promising a bigger NIL budget than OM has currently, but those things can change with a single large donation.

Because Florida is likely offering hookers and bugger sugar on the down low.

I heard this morning from a bald guy everybody adores around here say it is absolutely Lane’s decision and only his. That he wouldn’t be doing this for family. He’d make the decision from a coaching perspective.

Who else would be making the decision?

I think he’s referring to the decisions that have been made thus far.

LSU is a better job. But just marginally

Gainesville isn’t paradise but it’s leaps & bounds more appealing than Baton Rouge

Florida offers more stability. They stuck with Napier underperforming as long as we stuck with Kelly who actually did reasonably well the first two years and not horrible the last two. Florida has a longer tradition of excellence. The LSU administration is also obviously a shite show. But this is just devils advocate. I think LSU is the better job ultimately for the reasons you cited. But Florida is a damn good job nationally.

It would be some personal reasons of his that we might never know of.

Please explain how Florida has a longer football tradition than LSU.

There was college football before Spurrier took over as HC 35 years ago, and before him, Florida had never won ANYTHING of significance.
