Like many of you, I want to believe all the insiders, but we've all been played. I stumbled on the anchored post on ~page 3 by "Rebeloke" and it uncovered some truths. I searched his history and found this:

quote:

But somehow UF and LSU want to forget that Lane wanted to coach for them but they all rejected his advances. Strickland sabotaged Ole Miss and the show cause hit Chris Kiffin. The governor of LA said Sexton should be disbarred. Both programs previous communicated that Lane was damaged goods. Now they want to act like that’s all water under the bridge. I tried to tell you he is cray cray. Now you know.

To summarize, Lane is not coming to LSU. He wants to damage us as much as possible in this process. He's not going to Florida. He wants the same for them, but that's just competition. He didn't like being spurned by either school before.

He wants more money from SIP, but mainly to support NIL. He is actively recruiting for himself and against LSU.

He wants more money for his brother and for SIP to burn a little. Why? because Chris K was sacrificed before.

Sexton wants revenge on LSU for actions taken by them and the governor, so he's in on the whole bit.

Basically they've played us like a fiddle. Verge is probably collateral damage, but it's a good lesson. Someone will win...that person will be the next head coach.

We may lose if it's anyone but Dilly...probably.

We are going to be harmed by this, but someone needs to cut bait soon.

Many of the "insiders" on here, probably actually are...but their contacts were just played.

Kudos Lane. Well played all around.

My brethren, time to move on.

He wants elite status imo. You just look at him and see he will never settle. And Ole Miss can’t offer that elite status.

I dont think Sexton gives a frick about revenge on LSU.

Its plausible Lane is playing LSU and UF. Most fans understand this

Lane wants to win. He can't win at Ole Miss. He's going to the place that gives him the best chance to win. Either LSU or FL will lose him.. Ole Miss has already lost him IMO.

Sexton cares about power and money, and he gets both by getting revenge on LSU.

He will never settle until he’s the best, or gets old and gets dementia. I have always 100% believed that and always will. Look how he has worked his way up after falling like rock.

If Ole Miss can not give him every resource that another program can and he doesn’t believe he can do as well as he can at another program, he is gone I promise you. He doesn’t gaf about perception.

Kiffin not coming to LSU doesn't "hurt" the governor at all, he doesn't give a frick about LSU.

Kiffin may come or he may stay, it won't have anything to do with all of this though.

WOW. Does Sexton only represent one client? Does he want to limit the opportunities his current and future clients have to land a job at LSU?

Get your heads out of your asses.

Sexton has obligations to all his clients, not just Lane. No one is signing with him if he’s out there burning bridges with top-tier programs.

If Kiffin did choose LSU, we are now seeing what it would look like every year, except LSU would now have the Ole Miss role. Either Kiffin is looking at the NFL, or a bigger paycheck at another school. He'd always be looking for his next great challenge. Why would LSU want that? Seems very short sighted.

How does this burn us?

Lane is an option we are pursuing but he’s a HC at school about to make a playoff. Knowing that it probably won’t work out because of the playoffs.

So he doesn’t come here, we’ve lost nothing at all. He’s not ours now, so we only stand to gain if he comes here.

If he says no, we will have really good coaches lining up.

And he will be left competing with a new and driven coach with a better state to recruit, deeper NIL pockets, better facilities, bigger fan base, bigger stadium and a much bigger brand.

If he thinks he’s somehow playing a joke on us, well my friend, good luck going forward, but you just played yourself.

I believe Spurrier is still pissed at LSU for passing on him for Mike Archer.Thats why when he got a chance he would run up the score on us.LK is also a egomaniac he plays people and right now he’s doing it to LSU.

This is it.

Maybe he even actually thought about leaving for one of the big dogs since that was his plan all along. But he got the bag from ole miss for himself and NIL. Plus you have to look at what he would give up if he left: 1) ruin the oxford lives of his kids who are happy there and 2) ruin his rebuilt reputation because ole miss won’t let him coach the playoffs if he leaves

Can you imagine the circus that would follow his daughter if he left? She would have to drop out. She already made a slideshow begging him to stay last time. Is it worth it if your kids hate you?

Troll LSU/UF. Be the talk of the internet for a few weeks. Then swoop in and clean up on signing day
