If LSU does get Kiffin, how long before LSU has to fend off the NFL

for his services

That’s another years problem, all aboard the lane train.

I don’t think Kiffin wants back in the nfl. He dipped his toe in those waters already and he’s established as a college guy now. If lsu gets him I think they’ve got him until he hangs it up. You guys will win a natty or 2 before he retires I believe. Or you run him off

Never. Lane already tried it.
Plus, he knows that Saban and Urban both tried and should have stuck with college.

The better question is how much longer until you get banned for starting these ridiculous threads.

He's a college guy. There's a reason he never went back.

Who cares, if the NFL is calling that means we're winning ball games and competing for championships

I think he maybe would hear the NFL out at very high level but I don’t see him getting this far into flirting with them again.
He has been there done that.

Bama would be the more immediate threat if Deboer keeps missing the playoffs.

I think we would be willing to pay a lot more than the NFL as well. But, if he does have a lot of a success here it should be a valid concern. But you know what guys? If that’s the case then we’ll just find another great coach.

LSU to bama is lateral move most likely and with what we are promising him in NIL I doubt Bama would commit to beat it by 10-25%.. even which may not be enough to get Lane once he’s here

Tons of posters say he with come here because the pay is the same at OM (who knows the truth on that)
But, you think he’s going to the nfl to take a massive pay cut?

Lane wants to build a legacy in the college game like Saban did. Anything is possible, but the NFL isn’t as big a threat as people think it is.

He may not want the NFL, but will he and Sexton cause shenanigans for a bigger contract? Yes. But you know that going in.

Hopefully he learned about that lesson from Saban. The pros are a lot less forgiving than college.

If he does well enough that the NFL comes calling, you say bye and then on to the next one.
Decade-long coaching tenures in college are pretty much a thing of the past now.

The same thing was said about Pete Carroll when he had USC humming yet he went back. Of course that was also partially due to impending sanctions that he was running away from, but still he was a mentor of Lane plus his dad was around the NFL forever. I can't sit here and say for sure he's never entertain a return to the NFL. A lot has changed about the NFL and about Lane since he was in Oakland.
