Bermuda High shifted east this year. La Nina is finally forming, which will put it back west for 2026.

Predicted storm activity
Named Storms: 13–19
Hurricanes: 6–10
Major Hurricanes (Category 3-5): 3–5
Key factors influencing the forecast
Warmer sea surface temperatures: Warmer waters in the Atlantic and Caribbean provide more energy for storm formation.
Weaker Saharan Air Layer (SAL): A weaker SAL means less atmospheric dust, which usually suppresses storm development, allowing more storms to form and strengthen.
La Niña: The ongoing La Niña pattern contributes to a more active hurricane season.
Weaker tropical Atlantic trade winds: This also creates more favorable conditions for hurricane development.

Well, now they have another year to practice their panic and doomsday predictions.

You know, head to "Mime School" so they can practice the "I'm being blown away by the wind" walk. They then just have to hope the camera doesn't pick up pedestrians in the background casually walking by.

You sure this is the gotcha you think it is? Ended up with 13 named storms, assuming no more this season. 5 of those were hurricanes, of which 4 were major

Seems like most of the resident TD hurricane guys were predicting a mild season for the continental US based on the predominant steering conditions present this year.

Total # of storms was on the low end of predictions. Total activity was in line due to the 4 major hurricanes and a beast of a storm with Melissa.
