McAfee’s producer CLEARLY told by Kiffin’s people to stay away from other job talk.

The closest McAfee got was related to the ultimatum talk…which was likely approved to discuss by Kiffin’s people.

Lane clearly wanted to steer conversation to football, his RB, etc. He looked downright nervous that McAfee would circle back.

IMO, he did NOT definitively say he was staying. So, think LSU is still in it.

That said, it doesn’t seem like resolution is near.

Jimmy is very good at tipping the scales. Florida was convinced last week, we were convinced the last couple of days, and now it’s shifting back towards Ole Miss.

He did just ask McAfee if he wants to do the Walk of Champions sometime in the future....that wouldn't be until next year unless McAfee goes to the potential home playoff game.

From reading between the lines and his body language, I got the opposite opinion from the rest of this thread

Everything I saw seemed to show that he’s going to stay in Oxford

At this point, who the hell knows

I don't understand why he would even do that interview with everything that is going on. Unless he just can't help himself. There is no upside to it. All of this shite was fun for a day, now it's becoming tedious and bizarre for everyone. I'm ready to move on and get a fricking coach.

Think Lane did a masterful job…everyone still guessing.

If he wanted to end speculation, he would have addressed.

And, of course he loves his players. Did people really think he was going to say that he thought Ole Miss sucked and he hates his players?

If he knows he is not staying in Oxford but hasn't decided which outside offer to accept, there is ZERO reason to go on ESPN. None. There is no negotiating leverage to be had. He can only talk himself into potential trouble with all three suitors.

If he is truly undecided and staying in Oxford is in the mix, and he wants to lower the temperature and maintain peace with his current and possibly future employers in Oxford, it makes sense to go on ESPN--with strict topic guidelines--and recenter the discussion on the Ole Miss football season ahead.

My take: he is open to leaving from a career standpoint, but he is willing to stay in Oxford as well. He is concerned about his family and what they want. He has no interest in playing games--open trips for his family to potential destinations, his agent gathering every suitors' best offer and giving Ole Miss the option to match, nothing to hide. He and his family will arrive at a decision together.
