Where would this rank in all time coach scumbag moves?

To be clear: I am 100% for it, I want Kiffin at LSU.
I'm just saying, in the pantheon of all time coach "business" decisions, leaving your team before the season even ends when you are almost certainly going to be in a playoff run is pretty up there.

At least it’s not on Christmas

Well Brian Kelly did the exact same thing so.

Would still be below Petrino dipping on the Falcons and leaving them a note.

Right around Tuberville leaving Tech recruits at dinner to take the Cincinnati job.

Nah. Ole Miss is 100% in.
ND's chances were substantially less.

Yea, but you had to try to like Brian Kelly and you have to try to dislike Lane Kiffin.
Two completely different situations in my opinion.
Look, the way I see it is if Lane does indeed leave Ole Miss before the playoffs, then that says more about Ole Miss than it does about Lane Kiffin. He's got a playoff team at Ole Miss and he's entertaining offers from LSU and Florida. You don't do that if you're happy at your current program. Ole Miss has some soul searching to do regardless of whether he leaves or not. They've got to make some changes to their culture.

For real though.

It sounds like Lane was more than willing to finish the run but OM forced his hand to sign an extension or walk. This is more of a scorned lover blowing shite up on OM part rather than LK scumminess

It would be up there. Even Kelly had an outside shot when he left. Just know he'll probably do it to us too eventually if he ends up here.

What “soul searching” are you talking about?

yep, after losing to Iowa

Can you blame them?
In this era, being left without a coach in say, January, might be a 2 year death sentence

It would be about the biggest I can ever remember

No? But that doesn’t mean Lane is just bailing mid season on his own accord.

Yeah, not quite.
ND's season was over. Technically they were still alive for a CFP spot, but that was out of their control.
Ole Miss is in control of their CFP fate. If they beat Miss. State next week they are in.
The only parallel is Bill Frieder accepting the ASU job before the NCAAT started. He still planned to coach Michigan in the tournament until Bo Schembecler told him to kick rocks and that a "Michigan man" would be coaching Michigan. No one talks about that much because the interim coach won the championship after the HC was told to leave
