Is this a Sexton ploy?

If you’re an agent and your client wants to stay at Ole Miss with a hefty pay raise, do you tell him to put random family members on a plane to Baton Rouge? Does that force Ole Miss to up the ante?

Yes…..playin folks like a fiddle

might have revealed our hand too soon. i prefer stuff like this stay silent until right before announcing.

Well the rumor is Ole Miss wants an answer and Lane isn't ready to give one so none of this matters

I think he's already past the point of no return at Ole Miss.

LSU is about to have an egg on its face

It’s all smoke for Saban to LSU

I kinda agree. It’s almost like cheating on your spouse at this point

The idea that LSU is involved in this tour tells me it's more than a ploy.

These things are never handled as publicly as this.
Something is off here bigly.

I mean they went to Gainesville the other day so I mean idk. They could very well decide to stay. Just doing his due diligence to make the best decision for them.

yep, no turning back now. gotta deliver. we are knee deep with sexton and the house of horrors that comes along with it.

I think maybe the Florida stuff covered our negotiations, just a guess

I don't think you'd see family members coming to BR as smoke screens. Obviously Sexton & Kiffin are playing games with all of this, but if family members are in town, you can be assured there's interest there.
Lane wanted to come here when we hired BK, so he definitely has interest in this job. Does he still want to come here after being passed up for BK and with what he's got going on at Ole Miss and Florida also offering? That's the $15 million question.

Correct, you don't get an airplane, son and family and x touring BR if you aren't serious about the job
I mean that is the action of someone who already accepted the job if we're being honest how it would work in your profession

Yeah someone needs to go pull those interviews Culotta was doing with Kiffin when he was still at FAU. He alluded to the LSU job very positively from what I recall.

Here’s what’s happening
Sexton is working to milk this as much as it can be. A plane flight here and there is nothing to them. Boosters, agents, etc, will fly anyone and everyone around to make it look like a serious effort.
Whatever offers are given will be shown to ole miss for them to either match or beat and it’ll come down to what Lane wants to do.
Word is that he is fine to say at Ole Miss. they’re just going to to step up in pay and sexton is very good at making that happen.
He makes the market

The guy at the center of it is a guy who likes attention. Most coaches don't.
One scenario. He (and/or his family) visits multiple schools and accepts the highest salary in CFB to become the new HC.
Other scenario: He stays at OM as the highest paid HC in CFB and makes the fanbase feel all warm and fuzzy by telling them he looked at other places and OM is the best!
The players don't really care. This is a business for them. They are constantly looking at other "jobs" to secure a bigger bag. There's no reason to expect the coach not to do the same.

Sexton doesn’t need to do any elaborate bullshite, the bidding war is happening anyway.
