Kiffin doesn’t seem like the kind of guy that will be ok with an ultimatum.

This is going to be fun.

Wow! I can't believe Mississippi doing just like Louisiana and getting politics involved in the Athletics. Well done Mississippi

Incredible politicians think it’s smart to involve themselves in things like this.

Are you any kin to the Windhams around Laurel MS? If so we are probably cousins

Politicians need to stay out of hiring coaches' decisions. If I were a big-time coach, I would be wary of going to a school where state politicians are involved.

I actually agree with this.

They’ve given him a raise every year and dealt with “will he or won’t he” every year.

He’s done great there and for Ole Miss’ loyalty I think they deserve some back.

Lane won’t like this at all.

He made OM competitive again.. they wouldn’t even be in this position whatsoever without him making the place into a force.
They should give him the space to make the decision.

Calling him out publicly will only drive him away. Rubber band theory…

These politicians are such arrogant narcissists. They can’t help themselves, lol.

This board was so convinced Mississippi is way above Louisiana morally and would never stoop to this level

If you signed him, you knew this would happen. He will do this every year. Sexton will. Saban even did this to Alabama with Texas a couple times. It’s what you sign up for. So maybe they shouldn’t have signed him in the first place.

Politicians are politicians in every corner of this country and on the planet. It may be a little more in your face in Louisiana, but they are everywhere.

Very true.

I really wanted him at Auburn but the whole thing every year would wear thin.

It’s a catch 22. You want your coach doing so well that others try and hire him but you also want some loyalty and someone who wants to be there forever.

I just think the SOS, while stupid posting it in public, is probably what every ole miss fan thinks about this time of year when the kiffin sweepstakes starts.

May not be in that X post but the strong media rumor is OM gave Kiffin an ultimatum to sign extension or they will not allow him to coach in post season. Do you think this post by a high state official is a coincidence?
