Trump can’t release the Epstein files because of a court order?

3 months ago, for the nay sayers. A federal judge denied the Trump administration’s request to unseal grand jury materials in notorious sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s criminal case.
The judge called the request for those records a “diversion” from the mountain of files on Epstein that the government has already compiled.
Judge Richard Berman (appointed by Bill Clinton) is the third and final judge to reject the Trump administration’s requests to unseal Epstein-related grand jury materials from three separate cases.
Now why would Trump and his admin request to unseal the records if he is guilty

The democrats don't want them coming out because it's all they have, now they can speculate about what's in them.
Once they are released and there's nothing to it they will be back to defending illegals, MS-13 members, rapists, murderers, crime, gays, trans and Obamacare.

excuses and they just keep evolving.

What is the difference between the grand jury materials and the "mountain of evidence the government has already acquired" evidence

We'd have to define "Epstein files" which is always a pain in these discussions.
He can't release the GJ materials
Presumably there is a bunch of other Epstein materials in FBI files and elsewhere that may/may not be something POTUS can unilaterally release. Candidly, I don't know how that works and there is probably some degree of variation depending on who has the files.

No, it isn't.
The Grand Jury testimony that Trump asked to be released are not the Epstein files. It is the testimony of two people, and NYP cop and a FBI agent. This information was already made public in Maxwell's case.
The actual Epstein files are massive
quote:
The Epstein files are made of over 300 gigabytes of data, paper, video, photographs, and audio that live within the FBI’s main electronic case management system, “Sentinel.” These records would include investigative reports and records from the FBI Miami field division’s original Epstein investigation. The bulk of the records would come from the second investigation carried out by the FBI’s New York Office, including memorandums about the investigation and potential targets, locations to be searched, records to be subpoenaed, and hundreds of pages of “302s” which are the forms that FBI agents use to memorialize what witnesses, victims and suspects said in interviews by investigators.

Don't bother, Tmcgin has trouble distinguishing fantasy from reality.

Somehow this particular list is the only one that is impervious to legitimate leaks.

Im a little confused by the all encompassing term "Epstein files". No one has really defined what that means exactly. Grand Jury testimony can't be released unless a judge signs off on it and the judge denied the request. But is Grand Jury testimony part of the Epstein files?

Epstein stories
Know that the democrats blocked a measure to fast track the epstein files release Dems block vote to release files
Seems democrats don't want the files released.

Yes, it is true. It is why him telling the DoJ that they could "release the files" actually meant nothing in the grand scheme of things. He and everyone involved knew that any and everything related to the grand jury testimony was sealed and there was practically a zero percent chance of a judge unsealing it.
It was much ado about not a damn thing and was all for show.

I asked this in the other thread and didn't get an answer.
Here is my question. Once released, what info are we expecting to get? Let's say there is a list of people who visited the island. Are we to assume they were all messing with young girls? I doubt there is a record of girls being checked out like library books. What about the women on the list who visited the island? What were they there for? Is there victim testimony out there that can be cross-referenced with the names on the list? I have a feeling this will lead to many defamation/libel cases in the future.

Why did you change the title of your link? It says
"Judge rejects Trump administration request to release Jeffrey Epstein grand jury documents"
The Grand Jury documents are not the Epstein files, something that was made clear in your link
quote:
“The information contained in the Epstein grand jury transcripts pales in comparison to the Epstein investigation information and materials in the hand of the Department of Justice,” the judge wrote.
quote:
“The Government is a logical party to make comprehensive disclosure to the public of the Epstein files. By comparison, the instant grand jury motion appears to be a ‘diversion’ from the breath and scope of the Epstein files in the Government’s possession,”
It is clear that this was a stunt pulled by Trump to deflect from releasing the actual files.

quote:Those documents weren't files? My guess is the epstein "files" were part of the grand jury "documents". The files would likely have been used as evidence in the grand jury.

Why did you change the title of your link?
Why'd you skip the other link?

Didn't they recently get release 20k worth of documents?

Two different courts, not just one.
