Interesting choice in words by Dillingham, to maybe soften the blow of leaving. If LSU can't get Kiffin, he'd be a more viable backup plan than Drinkwitz. Versus ranked teams Dilly is 6-6 (.500), while Drink is 7-17 (.292).

“I mean, to be honest, I don’t worry about it at all,” Dillingham said of how he handles his name coming up in coaching searches. “I know the things that I want. I know my goals. I know what’s needed to achieve those things – personally, professionally.
"So, I don’t really worry about anything but our players… The things that matter to me are the relationships you build along the way. And so, I think, for me, I just kind of keep my head down, try to do the best job I can for our players because that’s what this is all about.”

About as weak a denial as you can have...

Fwiw, living here in the Phoenix area, and casually following ASU, I think Dillingham is creating leverage with supposed interest anywhere to get the AD to follow through with previous promises

At the very least, he should be. That’s what any good agent should do for their client who’s a hot name.

This would make much more sense.

Kenny as a coach only works if Stevie is on the staff. He does all the heavy lifting.

You won’t have to pay Dillingham like a top 5 coach like Drinkwitz. No massive buyout like with Drinkwitz. Drinkwitz priced himself out of the market.

No thanks. Big drop off this year. In a world where we’re shooting for Kiffin, this would be a big disappointment.

Who knows. But he’s clearly flattered by the mentions.

And I agree that the wording was about as weak of a denial as you can make.

He’s supposedly very frustrated with the behind the scenes support.

Yeah. He’s awful. Still 6-3 after losing his starting QB at the beginning of the season. On top of losing a lot from last years team that made the CFB.

But yeah, his record shows that he’s awful.

I won’t say much because Arizona State games aren’t on my weekly viewing schedule. So I can only go by what we see on paper. Doesn’t seem likes he’s the worst choice.
