Why is it always doom and gloom here? BK has don’t plenty to fire for cause

His contract read:
Kelly’s contract with LSU includes a “for-cause” termination clause that allows for his firing due to “material and substantial [NCAA] rule violations,” being convicted of a felony or “any crime involving gambling, drugs, or alcohol,” “engaging in serious misconduct which either displays a continual, serious disrespect … for the mission of LSU,” or “constitutes moral turpitude.”
So his affair, drinking problem, skipping out on work, Greg Brooks, etc

You can’t assign cause after the fact.

1. Prove any of this
2. Even if you could it doesn’t matter, because LSU missed the window to use “cause”

Kelly verbally said he was willing to negotiate his buyout. He then formally went a different route.
LSU verbally agreed to a normal termination of Kelly's contract. They then formally went a different route.
Both parties are either innocent or guilty here.

I assume you have copies of the notice given to stop/cure/mitigate those potential for cause infractions?

I don’t but I’m sure LSUs attorneys do. Or they wouldn’t go this route

1. This board is unstable and anytime posters start getting trolled on the SEC rant they implode.
2. This is a lot of change and a lot of uncertainty. Mentally unstable people don’t handle these kind of things well. Hence the outbursts here.
3. This is unfortunately playing out in public. A lot of what is happening is probably normal in a contract dispute, but because the governor could not keep his mouth shut, unstable people have access to all the inner workings. This is adding to the chaos, confusion, and uncertainty. Which again, mentally unstable people (Tiger Rant) don’t handle well.

Getting blown out at home by the Faggies while they prance around the field is enough cause.

You beat me to it. Kelly is intentionally airing this to further drag LSU along his BS trail. Not that LSU is innocent but this will make the situation more indifferent in the long run which might blow over sooner.
In my opinion, if Kelly wouldn't have aired this then LSU could've looked more like the bad guy. Now it looks like LSU is slightly more justified to low ball him.

Not really how it works. If negotiations fail, you still have to follow the contract until both parties agree in writing not to in some sort of settlement agreement.

I can understand not getting the intricacies of it but ask any lawyer and they will tell you, if it is true that LSU is taking the position that they fired BK for cause that is absolute clown shite. Not only that but LSU is nuking its credibility in negotiations with prospective candidates with this shite show. I have been optimistic about the situation so far, but now I am done. Now is the time to melt.

It’s hard to fire Kelly for a cause when you didn’t fire O for cause and you’ve promoted Verge to AD with all his baggage. I’m sure Kelly’s lawyers and have told him dig in and he probably gets every penny.

LSU has the duty to inform Kelly 7 days prior to the effective termination date in the case of for cause termination. There is no effective termination date of the contract yet, so how can it be after the fact?
To be clear, I don’t think there’s for cause grounds here, but no one on this board is privy to any of the actual details.

LOL It is 100% guaranteed if they were actually building a case for a cause firing the timeline would have been different. They fired him and then over time they started to ruminate on the idea of firing him for cause. That plan was simply not in the works prior to the TAMA loss.

Clown shite. The effective date of the termination is the day they deactivated his key fob and told him to get his shite out of the building.

It’s obvious you spend all day saying “do you want fries with that?”

When you sign a legally binding contract, then you are legally bound to abide by the terms of the contract. It just that simple. Pay the man. Now for future reference, do not enter into a contract you can not afford to break.

Not contractually which is all that matters here. Until the contract itself is terminated, key fob or no key fob is irrelevant.
