Kiffin: "NIL has narrowed the gap, but recruits are still attracted to history and trad."

Title was paraphrased.
“People will say the playing field has narrowed — like Coach Saban mentioned — and in some ways it has, because you can’t stockpile talent anymore the way those traditional ‘blue blood’ programs used to. But there are still things that make it hard to beat those teams. Kids are still drawn to the size of the stadiums, the history, the Heisman winners, the national championships, and the proximity to talent-rich areas. All of that still matters. It’s just that over time, the emphasis has shifted — the question used to be, ‘What’s your assistant coaches’ pool?’ Now it’s, ‘What’s your player pool?’”
That mindset heavily leans LSU/Florida than it does Ole Miss.
No 4*/5* high school recruit worth their salt visits Oxford, MS and says, "Yeah, I can see myself here over the Bamas, LSUs, Georgias, and Floridas of the world."
Video is set to the 5:02 mark...

Your run as saddest poster on here continues unchallenged. Lane is going to need a restraining order against you.

No you aren’t bc there is no news.
You’re running here daily with message board rumors and acting like whatever you just read is the final determination and everything has been settled.

I said this two weeks ago....

It comes down to whether he has the burning desire to win a natty or is comfortable and not wanting to be under the gun.
Ole Miss can slip into the playoffs but they aren’t going to win it all. Why? Because you need more talent than he will ever get at ole Miss.
Pull up the 247 Roster Talent composite and a team in the top 10 will win it. The only exception in the last 25 years is Michigan in 2023 when they were 14th. Ole Miss is consistently ranked in the 20”s.
Lane knows this.
So, is he comfortable and just wants to play it safe? Or, does he have a burning desire to win? He said yesterday it’s not about the money.

You never can be sure about ole kiff. He reminds me a lot of.......well me (except I can't coach LOL). But the kind of goofy messaging and a bit of a lacking in emotional intelligence (kind of immature and silly), bottom line you never know about a feller like kiff.

I think Lane knows deep down he the blue bloods are the only ones that win nattys.
Getting to the playoffs will 100% be attainable at OM, but I just don’t see him going all the way there.
The OSUs, UGA, Bama’s, LSU, Texas’ of the world are far too good at having complete rosters year over year.
His teams at OM will be very dependent on 3-4 star players, and if they are hurt or underperform for a game it can all come to an end.

On a tiktok with Landry he jokes about how maybe Ole Miss will build a bigger stadium.

I don’t see Kiffin staying in Oxford, but I have no clue where he ends up. I’ve been on record saying he’d crawl on glass to BR, but maybe Florida is more is style. I just knew he has bigger plans than Ole Miss, it’s Lane Kiffin. He’d be better off at either. If he stays at Ole Miss he’s content and will likely never reach the top of the college football world, but good for him it’s his decision.

I think he hates that the fan base isn’t showing up to games and leaving early when they are having a phenomenal year.
Sort of a “are you not entertained?!” Type feeling he must be having.
I don’t want to dog on OM too much here though. LSU fans leave early in droves too but the teams have sucked so there’s that.
They need to take tix away from little college white girls, they show up to take a picture for IG and then want to leave to meet Brad at a bar. They contributed zero to the atmosphere.

Yeah I say this all the time, everyone always jumps to "they have a big NIL" but that still doesn't mean much when most bigger schools do now.
Best case in point is SMU. Rich boosters, supposedly have a huge top tier NIL...#34 recruiting class #42 transfer class after a CFP birth. Why? Because who the hell wants to play at Southern Methodist University? No one.

I think both LSU and Florida should unload the war chest to land Kiffin. He’s clearly open to moving to a bigger job.

shite, all the non top 10 programs should probably go ahead and shut it down then if it's impossible to win the natty. Why bother playing the game then.

The fact that you didn’t lose your virginity until your late 20s is starting to make more sense to me
