As someone who shops there, my biggest complaint is how there are easily 1,000 people in the store at any given time. Mass chaos. Clueless people who leave cart in middle of aisle blocking passing through. Old people who walk at 0.3 mph blocking you from passing them. People who don’t take the left lane walking. Always apply driving rules to mass grocery store traffic rules. Drivers in parking lot willing to run over people to get to their spot faster. Then at 8 PM, they bring out inventory for next day, huge pallets, blocking 75% of main aisles. That’s disrespectful to your customers. Don’t stack 73 pallets of inventory blocking entire aisles making it a pain for your customers to navigate aisles until after it closes.

The selection is good. Prices are good. It’s just a zoo at the main ones in Houston.

Also, A+ during crawfish season. They’re the only place in Houston that allows you to break sacks and buy like 8 lbs live. And generally have decent crawfish prices.

Best grocery store in the southeast and better than any Publix that I’ve been to as well.

Last Wednesday, I got through the Portland Superstore in 8.5 minutes by using the wife's Pride GoGo Sport scooter.

I miss buying Salmon trimmings for 5.99. They will put wagyu trimmings out for cheap.

I like the ones with the tortilla factory in the store. Fresh cheap tortillas. I wish we had HEB.

I love shopping at HEB's gourmet store, Central Market. I'm in awe at the quality.

Bro if you like HEB, take yourself to a Central Market. Basically HEB Whole Foods, incredible store as long as you can afford it.

I love HEB for steaks and ground beef. Beef ribs and brisket are a great selection as well.

However, the pork steaks and round steaks leave much to be desired. Piggly Wiggly in Louisiana is much better for those. Fortunately, there a local butcher who carries both of those with the necessary quality a coonass wants.
