Trump sued the NFL for anti-trust in 1986, seeking damages of $1.7 billion. Trump alleges that the NFL pressures the mainstream TV Networks to not air their games. Trump wins but the manhattan-jury in awards Trump $1 as nominal damages. League folds.
Trump still holds a grudge about this so it makes sense that he wants to dip his nuts on the NFL by having a stadium named after him.
But also could be a ploy to move the Redskins somewhere else, because they'll move the goddam team before naming a stadium after Trump.
