Is Bo Nix really that much better than Ratt/Shough??

After watching Bo Nix last night I came away feeling that we have a couple of guys that could be equally as effective. I think Kellen Moore has to do a better job of tailoring the offense to his talent. I know many will not agree but I kept wondering if Payton would be able to get this group to score more than 15PPG. Kellen has to coach better with what he has (which ain't much). Hopefully he can muster a win or two against our division rivals.

Aint no QB performing well behind this OL. We can't properly evaluate anyone until it gets fixed.

Nix has been doing very well in Denver. I didn't see last night's game, but judging any player on one game is silly

I think we should have traded Ratt for some picks before the deadline. Why didnt we ever build around Taysom more?

We have to beef up our Oline or it doesnt matter who is in there at QB.

Its a bit of a chicken/egg situation. The hardest position to fill is a QB you can build around. So keep drafting QBs until you find the guy you want to build around.

But if you dont have a strong line then even the best QB is going to struggle.

This idea needs to stop. No one was ever building an offense around Taysom. He was never going to be an NFL starting QB.

I guess they tried it back in '20-21 and ultimately decided to go with Jameis.

He is 6'2" and Ratt is only 6"

Taysom went 7-4 as a starter. Ratt 1-13.
Taysom had 64% completion rate. Ratt 55%.
Taysom passed for 7.8 yds/attempt. Ratt 5.7.

He's 35 now so that is an issue but you are probably right overall, need to move on.

Nix is very streaky. Some games he looks like a poor mans Josh Allen with his legs and spreading the ball, some games he looks like last night.

Nix has hit the year 2 wall about as hard as CJ Stroud did.

I love his scramble right throw back. One of the signature QB traits in the entire league.

He is pretty mid tho

I have been following Nix because I have him on my fantasy team. He has been very inconsistent. He didn’t do a damned thing last night although his receivers didn’t give him any help.

Compared to Schough? Too early to say.

It’s not from a lack of spending early draft picks on OL. The scouting department needs to drastically improve or be replaced

Keep in mind nix has 100 more pass attempts

Also keep in mind CSP went 17-4 with Taysom, Teddy B and Jameis in 2019-2021

Payton is great at squeezing the most out of offensive players. I don’t remember many skill position players that left New Orleans after having success and doing better somewhere else.

You will receive a much-deserved flurry of downvotes for this post. The situation Taysom had was way better than Rattler. We actually had a great defense back then.

You don’t just look at starting records blindly.

Why is taysom even still on his team. Surely someone can give us some picks for him. Price tag too high for his niche skill set and minimal contributions.

Damn, more than double the TDs. Is Nix cheating by getting those cheap short yardage TDs in the redzone?
