Who are some names slightly off the radar that aren't being talked about?

Kalani Sitake.

Although if BYU goes and beats Texas Tech on the road Saturday, his name might heat up a little more.

Heupel

Heupel is really intriguing to me. I think it's smart to go in on a coach who is slightly down right now so you don't end up paying a fortune for him. It's like buying a stock at top of market - which kind of feels like Kiffin right now. Although I do think he'd be best option. Love the idea of Heupel though

I wish we could get Brohm and be done with it, I think he would kill it here.

His cousin would be a better choice, but I doubt LSU could pry him away from his current job!

His name has been brought up a few times, and I think people see Tech’s record and just go with the name of the HC without much knowledge of the coach and that’s totally ok.

McGuire was a very successful HS coach in Texas. Dave Aranda hired him when he took the Baylor job. Aranda needed help recruiting Texas and McGuire was a big name in the Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA) which is pretty much the mafia of Tx HS Football.
Texas Tech made a MAJOR reach when they hired him as HC. He has toed the line of 8-5 seasons which is historically the ceiling at Tech. Tech received a well-publicized contribution to their NIL from one donor, and proceeded to buy players from the portal.
I have strong doubts as to whether he could recreate his success this season (so far) at other places. He’s a CEO type head coach that relies on NIL and hiring good coordinators.
