I'm not sure legally he can, but on the other hand, I want him to try and then fall on his arse.

How? Easy. There is a federal government that acts as a safety net.
Take away all federal subsidies, and socialism gets REAL expensive REAL fast.

You think a judge in NYC is going to stop him? If the Republicans were smart they would do what the Democrats do and find a receptive judge to block them but the Republican Party is incompetent so nothing will be done

Everything he is proposing has been tried in other cities. Some, like "free" bus service are a permanent feature in some places but I dont think anything near the scale that would be required for NYC. New Mexico just implemented "free" day care for all residence no matter income. Some place have even tried government owned grocery stores but all those all failed I believe.

Any sort of government run social service is socialism....so we exist in a hybrid capitalist/ socialist system already. A purely socialist city ..no that cannot exist in a capitalist system.

Honestly, that's probably the only way a socialist entity can exist, when it is in a parasitic relationship.

Apparently, you haven’t read the Democrat playbook. They’ll blame all their failures on Trump. They’ll claim that until they have full control over the entire country and economy, everything is Trump‘s fault – even if it’s 50 years from now.

and, unfortunately, close to 50% of this country is SFP-level fricking retarded and will buy it.

What's becoming disturbingly clear in the US, particularly in large metropolitan areas is a growing number of Americans who want the government to meet their needs. We have a huge problem with tens of millions of Americans who are either underemployed or unemployed and they want those who are scraping out a living to pay for their needs.

He's not the even the first "socialist" mayor of NYC.

Fiorello LaGuardia was a socialist. He might have said he was a Democrat but his policies and initiatives were very much socialist.....extremely to the left of FDR

Eventually someone has to get paid. Grocery warehouses won’t deliver to stores in NYC unless they get paid.

Landlords have a note to pay on those apartment buildings.

ConEd won’t supply electricity for free.

Yeah. When I think of companies like Starbucks, Amazon, Microsoft and others in the Seattle metro area the last thing I think about is staunch capitalists.

His plan for controlling crime is laughable.

He wants to:
-build a $1.1 billion Department of Community Safety (DCS), a brand-new civilian agency

-employ “violence interrupters”.

You might think that sounds like cops but no. These “violence interrupters” will be “ex gang members” who step between the “beef” and the bullet. They would supposedly show up before shots ring out, talk rival crews down, and reduce the cycle of retaliation.

So he basically wants to create a way for gang members to grift from the government by pretending they are reformed and want to help.
