Ed O went 16-27 (10-25 Ole Miss and 6-2 USC) before becoming HC at LSU. Win % .372

Frank Wilson went (7-11 McNeese and 19-29 UTSA) 26-40 before being named Interim at LSU. Win % .393

Yea, well Ed O's 37% win percentage at Ole Miss and USC was better than Frank Wilson's 39% win percentage at fricking UTSA and McNeese.

I'd be really, really fricking depressed if Frank gets the full time position, even if he does go undefeated this month.

One coached in the SEC, the other wasn't even at the FBS level.

Orgeron was a mistake, so what’s the point?

A mistake? You think 2019 happens without him? You think any coach we moved to interim and then to HC would have brought Joe Burrow here or Joe Brady, or Jamar Chase, or Justin Jefferson, Thaddeus Moss, or Terrace Marshall, Clyde Edwards Helaire? What coach would have done that. And if you do find one that brought in all those guys, if he doesn't bring in Burrow and Brady, 2019 never happens. Some mistake.

And Ed shouldn’t have ever gotten the job either but that hiring process was more bungled than what’s going on now

Justin Jefferson, Clyde Edwards Helaire and Thaddeus Moss had all already committed to LSU prior to Orgeron getting the job.

Jamar Chase and Terrace Marshall were both also recruited by the prior staff (of which Orgeron was a part).

Orgeron had next to nothing to do with getting Joe Burrow here, and that has been well documented.

2019 was incredible and we are all grateful for that year, but to act as if Ed Orgeron is anything other than a terrible head coach is removed from reality. There's a good reason he hasn't held a job since we fired him.

If you look at what O was hired to do, he was a huge success. And that was find some way to fix the offense while we had this awesome Dave Aranda defense and all this talent.

He did exactly that. He won a natty. That’s the literal best case scenarios.

The problem is what happens after?
That was never a sustainable model in and of itself.

False.

Ed proved that he could assemble a staff of old timers and good ol boys. Inject a little young blood for good ideas. And GRIND IT THE frick OUT.

It didn't go sideways until he realized the woman holding it all together for him was also the woman who was going to tear it all apart.

I can't fault the guy for having a downward spiral when the only reason he ever had to get sober suddenly had issues she refused to address herself.

Have to hire Frank at LSU to see if he bests Ed O's tenure as HC.

He literally made the initial contact with Burrow after Bush told him about him and lowkey promised him the starting position. He then got him down here and Ensminger closed the deal by talking ball with Joe and his dad for several hours.

Make no mistake, without Coach O, Burrow would've been at Cincinnati.
