So I left the board alone today for all of the melts to fizz out. Here is what I have gleaned.
Since the dims won a few blue/deep blue elections they were expected to win MAGA is dead and it will be a continued bloodbath going forward unless we pass an omnibus bill funding free healthcare for illegals, SNAP, WIC, EBT, stop all deportations and reopen the borders.
Is this the long and short of it?

Nope.
Republicans should absolutely keep moving forward and even accelerate Trump’s agenda with zero worries over any backlash.

GOP was hoping to build on November 2024 momentum and instead it wend further blue.
That is a loss. But not nearly as significant as either extremes are making it.
I personally think you had shitty candidates all the way around. And the fact that GOP was hitching any wagon at all to those people was just misguided.
It’s definitely a loss, but I don’t think you can apply what happened to the midterms with any certainty

When the honest pollsters such as Baris and Mitchell are saying it's a bad sign, we may need to listen. They were saying for the last few weeks that things weren't looking good. It's not about the big position wins; it's about the down ballot flips that are concerning.
Watch Baris break it all down. Head in the sand is not the way to fix it. Panicking isn't either. It all comes down to domestic economic issues that the 2024 voters feel abandoned on.

Dems get a small win maybe once every 2-3 months yet always claim it’s the end of MAGA. Yesterday wasn’t even a “win” it was a continuation of what most knew was already going to happen.

It's almost as if there's nothing to make the perpetually-disaffected malcontent class happy this time.

…no? If anything it just means this administration should recoup lost momentum by focusing on legislation (which would be more difficult for the next dem regime to undo) rather than just relying on executive action (which could be).
Where is the immigration law reform?
Where is the Obamacare replacement?
Where is the measured to reduce costs for consumers (anti trust, etc)?
Bueller? Bueller?
Constructive criticism isn’t “being liberal”
IMO, end the filibuster and get the legislation blitzkrieg ready to roll. And if Thune/Collins stall, pressure them day & night until they fold. Because Dems are absolutely gonna end it; globalists are PISSED.
And as an aside, he needs to stop being at the beck & call of Israel, it’s just pathetic.

If LSU played Ohio State this weekend and lost by 70 would you all say "we were supposed to lose!!!"
Because that's basically what happened last night. Republicans didn't just lose they got annihilated. Seats that were considered Safe R flipped

Rep got beat because registered republican voters stayed home In NJ and VA. Just dumb and why we can't have nice things.

I've given up trying to prove this point. To a few guys here, voicing any concern makes you a panican, and if you come back to tell them "I told you so" they give you puppy dog eyes and say "wow bro you must really hate America bro, you're happy this bad thing happened?"

Hardly surprising thst all the posters that consistently have the least nuanced takes on everything are also incapable of reflection. Both the Rant and the Poliboard accuse each other of being the dumbest board, but it’s the same lack of perspective on each.

Are you unaware of the ones that flipped
Posted on 11/5/25 at 3:17 pm to lepdagod
Why don’t you tell us the unexpected ones that flipped.
Posted on 11/5/25 at 3:19 pm to Strannix
In a lot of cases it’s the margin of said defeats. Lots of routs and unexpected down ballot flips.
Like it’s hard to come up with realistic possibilities of how yesterday could’ve gone worse for Republicans, thus the response.

A Trump +46 district in Georgia flipped
A Virginia seat that wasn't even considered to be in play and has been red since 1989 flipped

NJ was supposed to be close. 2021 was a 3 point spread and 2024 was 5. Last night was 13. This spread and the bizarre GA results are considered disappointments for the GOP

Please share more details on that. I can’t seem to find what you’re talking about. TIA
