MAGA through and through, but Trump wanting Republicans to end the filibuster is a HUGE mistake.

I keep telling people like this, that the Dems will trip over themselves to end it should they retake the Senate. No matter what the GOP does.

The democrats almost ended it in 2021-2022 but Manchin and Sinema held firm.
They will end it at some point, if republicans don’t.

You actually can unring this particular bell. Cloture is not in the Constitution, it's Senate Rule XXII. As such, it can be removed, re-added and adjusted whenever their is the political will (for example, in 2013 the Democrats lowered the cloture threshold to a only needing a simple majority to approve judicial and administration appointments).

Change is supposed to be slow. That’s why the filibuster exists.
Laws would flip flop every election cycle without the filibuster. Regardless of whose policies you’re worried about, if you do away with the filibuster, you may as well do away with our entire form of government and design something else. The filibuster is what makes a two party system “work” (and I know that using “work” here is tenuous)

I’ll tell you the real reason the republicans won’t end it. It’s to save them the embarrassment of still not having enough votes due to the UniParty cucks that will vote with the dems.

Manchin and Sinema are gone. There is only 1 dem moderate left. The filibuster is dead under the next Dem majority.

That’s what Trump is saying. They blocked it, and they are gone.
He said they will do it. We would be smart to beat them to it for the next 3 years.
