Florida fans are positive that they are getting Lane.

I know it doesn't matter what they think but I went to their subreddit and one of their forum sites just to see what news they had.
Essentially they think we have no shot of landing Lane and that he is a lock for them.
I hope so badly we either get him or he stays at OM because the melt would be glorious.

Well, we didn’t exactly target him last time.

Lane isn’t going to Florida.
Florida goes to Ole Miss on Nov 15. It will be a hostile ugly game and Florida will probably win and derail OMs season.

I honestly feel he stays put or goes to Florida. He has already coached in FL, and his wife and father in law are both U. of Florida alumni. Really the only reason people think he would come here is because everyone keeps saying LSU is the best job.

Lane is not going to pass up on the LSU job if offered and if it’s the same money as OM and UF are offering. He’s not dumb

if this is happening and he's headed to UF, than that means LSU probably has their coach ? or the value of the LSU brand isn't what we thought

Funny how Florida, LSU, and Ole Miss all feel confident at the moment. Makes me feel like he sticks with Ole Miss, but I continue to be surprised how confident the inside guys around LSU are at the moment.

I was told by multiple posters on here that Lane desperately wanted the job but could never even get an interview. One poster said he had sauces that he cried when he found out he wasn't being offered the job etc.

He didn’t. The reports said he really wanted the job when Orgeron got fired. He was at Ole Miss and went 5-5 and then 10-3, but reached out to LSU about the opening. LSU went with Kelly and Kiffin took it personally.
There’s a reason he trolls LSU and Kelly harder than anyone else after he beats them.

I think you are right. I heard that his agent has told FL that he is coming. Really wanted Lane here but it really does appear that he chose FL over us. I guess taking the interim AD tag off then less than 24 hours later backtrack makes us look incompetent.
