I feel like I remember him talking about this a few years ago, maybe in his first term? Would you support it?

I feel like there is zero need for DST. I don't think i have ever met someone who likes it, especially if they have young kids.

EDIT: I would prefer it stay light outside later, got it mixed up.

If DST becomes the standard time, sure.

Dunno, but I do know 1000% some judge would try to counteract his EO.

While I'd approve of it, I don't know if his bean counters would conclude that this is a battle he needs to take on.

Or maybe it's exactly what he needs to be doing.

for clarification, you would prefer it be lighter outside later, like in the summer time?

First you need to understand what DST is.

If he ends DST, we stay in standard time, which is what we currently are in. If he makes DST permanent, we stay in summer time all year long.

I like it. I’d rather have the extra sunlight in the evenings. It seems to be about a 50-50 issue.

I’d rather keep standard time. I work 4 AM shifts so I have to go to bed early and it’s much easier to go to bed early when it’s dark outside.

Yes. Not a fan of it getting dark at 5pm

Honestly i kind of agree.

I also think getting rid of kickers is something we should consider.

What do people dislike more, having to pick a kicker or having to pick a defense/ special teams for fantasy football...

Ohhhhh, daylights savings time...

I would prefer grade school kids not wait for a bus in the dark. If we go to dst then school hours should be shifted. If we go to standard time then adjust your work hours.

Plus if DST was year round I could sleep in another hour before getting up to go duck hunting.

I can’t keep up. Are people trying to end DST or impose permanent DST?

This happens way too much and I don't understand how that is.

The right way is to allow the states to enact their own laws. Louisiana has a standing law passed that would make permanent DST. Many states do but require congressional approval to start enforcement.

quote:

Clocks will "fall back" on November 2 at 2 a.m. local time, marking the end of Daylight Saving Time (DST) for 2025.

But 19 states have already passed legislation to make DST permanent—they're just waiting for Congress to give them the green light.

The push for year-round DST hit a roadblock on October 28 when Senator Tom Cotton, an Arkansas Republican, opposed efforts to fast-track a federal bill that would eliminate the twice-yearly clock changes.

This means Americans will continue setting their clocks forward in March and back in November for the foreseeable future.

The 19 states that have passed laws to adopt year-round DST, pending federal authorization, are:

Texas
Oklahoma
Colorado
Alabama
Georgia
Minnesota
Mississippi
Montana
Idaho (Pacific time zone only)
Louisiana
South Carolina
Utah
Wyoming
Delaware
Maine
Oregon (Pacific time zone only)
Tennessee
Washington
Florida
