What is the role of Scott Woodward right now?

Lame duck? Why is he still employed? Will a football coach answer to him once hired? Or to the BoS? Or Landry?
I don’t understand the notion of firing the coach mid season and shutting down the AD but also still keeping said AD employed.

After talking with a few people tonight. Money people dont necessarily want him gone. They want to hinder Woodward.
