I know they're the better team top to bottom right now and winning in Ttown is really hard, but we have some real advanatges working in our favor IMO.....

1-No mobile QB for Bama. Baker will be aggessive, blitzers getting home unlikely to lose contain or have a hard time getting Ty to the ground. That's been the weakness of this D (Chambliss, Pavia, Reed)

Ty Simspon, non sack adjusted rush stats on the year: 51 car, 79 yards, 1.5 ypc, 2 TDs, 4 fumbles (3 lost).

2-Delane/Pickett/Woodland are about as good of a counter punch to Williams & co in the country. Our cover guys can and will hold up.

3-Bama backfield is average, usually they have a generational RB and it's just not on that roster right now. Our run D should be solid.

4-Their rushing defense is average at best. 60th in the country. We're seeing flashes with Durham/Berry and the X factor is MVBs legs.

5-The season is over in a lot or ways for us, and we're playing with nothing to lose, wounded animal mode. 12.5 point line, wouldn't be surprised if KB overlooks us and they come out flat.

6-If MVB gets the nod Bama doesn't have the film to really prepare. Atkins knows this. In terms of prepping for the other teams offense, we have an advantage. We know what they're going to try and do, nobody knows what we'll try and do.

7-Health, getting Adams and Weeks back, arguably our 2 most important players on their respecive sides of the ball, is huge.

8-Grant Chadwick continues to be one of the best punters in the country. Field position will play a role. Hopefully he just kicks it out of bounds most of the time

9-New energy/coaching, although I admit this one is total speculation, getting Kelly out might be removing a lot of poison from the program. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see this team playing with it's hair on fire for Frank Wilson, esp after a long break.

Call me a sunshine pumper all you want. I think we're a lot more live than people think. Looking forward to ruining somebody elses season, Geaux Tigers!

Isn't Thai Simpson pretty athletic and capable of scrambling?

I actually agree that this isn't anywhere near as bad as it could be for us. If things fall the right way, we could win.

This is simply not true.

Relative to the 3 that roasted us, not really.

He's athletic but his rushing stats on the year are virtually nonexistant. (I know these aren't adjusted for sacks but point remains)

Adams had tightrope surgery less than two weeks ago. Even if he goes, he won’t be 100%.

I agree with the rest of your post though.

Ty Simpson is a lot more mobile than you’re giving him credit for.

He’s pretty close to Joe Burrow Mobility

MVB and Hurley need to see the field. This will open it up. Put Stiffler or some walk on OL/DL in the backfield to help block.

Maybe, I haven't watched a ton of Bama, but his stats certainly don't show that.

Non sack adjusted rush stats on the year:

51 car, 79 yards, 1.5 ypc, 2 TDs, 4 fumbles (3 lost)

Simpson can and will run, but he is 100% a “pass first” QB. He is very similar to Burrow, as in he can and will beat you with his legs from time to time, but he will not continually wreck your defense with his legs like Sellers , Pavia and Ole Miss QB will if you let them.

we have the advantage in most position groups and we always play well in T town.

Don’t know about winning, but this game is setting up to give Bama fits.

LSU matches up much better with Alabama this year than they did A&M

It's not out of the realm of possibility that we can beat Bama. This is still a talented team, and if Frank makes some necessary schematic changes on offense, he can have us humming. I still remember when we smoked a pretty good Arkansas team with Hal Hunter as the interim back in the 90's

Have you not watched bama play this year? He’s been slinging the ball all over the field this year, so he doesn’t purposely run alot. He’ll make you pay when he has to run though.

If whit is out, we are f*cked... if he plays, we can be respectable.

Forgetting our lt went down bad against atm, and oline got abused all game in pass protect.

This is really what my post all boils down to. Totally agree.

Not saying we're better or calling for us to win, it's just a much friendlier matchup given what this teams strengths and weaknesses are.

Yeah. We match up well with every team. We just play like shite and had a horrible OC. Atm game if dont give up punt return thats a game. Vandy if score on 1 yd and 2 cb blitzes break down and get easy sacks, We win by 2 tds. Ole miss if we run when they show 4 in box 12 times on 1st and 2nd down, probably win that.
