Since America is scheduled to switch back to standard time in less than a week, I'm going to assume that , even though this President and the last one talked about changing it, we are still moving our clocks back this Saturday night/ Sunday morning.

Guess starting next Monday, I'll have to wait til next March to enjoy any daylight at the end of the workday.

I hate pulling up to work in the pitch black when it feels like I still should be in bed.

Not all states switch back and forth between DST and ST.
Why is the federal government getting in on this? This should be each states choice and a states rights issue.

federal law says that states are allowed to stay on Standard time, but can not remain on Day Light Saving time

I enjoy standard time. Wish they’d leave it like that year around. I know I’m probably in the minority

It is infinitely worse to try to be active with your kids outdoors when the fricking sun goes down @ 4:30.

Just pick one and stick to it. The days naturally get longer and shorter. Let mother nature handle her business. It is insane to me that we still follow this shite based on a time where people were still using fricking candlelight to illuminate their homes.

Senate passed making daylight time permanent with the Sunshine Act awhile back..

Pelosi killed it in the house, said it wasn't a priority even though it was wanted by both parties.

Pelosi wants everyone to be miserable like herself.

The current system is great and a product of careful thought and consideration.

I don't know why a dumber generation would want to mess with it.

That being said, if we absolutely had to choose I would pick permanent daylight savings time. I also recognize many people feel the opposite, hence the compromise of the current system.

Could a state just decide to move to a different time zone?

For example, if Louisiana wanted year round DST, we could vote to move to Eastern Standard Time year round.

Yes but you need permission from the Sec. of Transportation.
Part of North Dakota switched times zones about 15 years ago.

That might be easier than getting the Senate to pass it where one senator from BFE can block it.

They better figure this shite out. I had a hell of a time this morning trying to schedule a call for next week based on the request for 5pm CET.

I used to complain about changing clocks, but I get it. It's so dark in the morning at like 8:00am and the sun sets at like 4:45pm. I'm sick of it, so glad we are finally setting the clock back

I hate getting home in the dark when it feels like I should already be in bed.
